Valheim Tar Location: How to Get Tar in Valheim
To find Tar in Valheim, make sure you have the Hearth and Home upgrade, then trek to the Plains biome, which will require a good amount of playtime.
To obtain tar, you must go to an unexplored area of the Plains biome, with emphasis on unexplored. Not a single tar spawn location will appear in an already discovered Plains area, so don’t waste time going to known locations on your map.

When you reach a Tar Pit, you will most likely have to face several growth enemies, a new type of enemy that can throw tar at you, slowing you down and poisoning you.
Equip yourself as best as you can and be quick to kill them, preferably from a safe distance using a bow, as the growth can be very annoying if you’re not careful.

Once you’re sorted and get enough tar, you can go back and work on your new building and furniture, such as the Darkwood Door, Darkwood Arch, Jacuzzi, or several different ornaments.
