Solution of the Mayachin Shrine in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Once you’re inside the Mayachin Shrine, you won’t have to go far to get to the center from which you’ll run the puzzle A fixed device: just jump onto the turntable, wait for it to spin you the other way, and you’re there .
The rotating platform with which you will have to cross the gap.
The main objective of this Shrine puzzle is to build a beam and use it to propel a ball and reach a target.
However, there are a couple of things you need to take care of before you get to that point.
First, you’ll want to stand on a square pressure plate in front of you; this will cause the target we need to appear on the far left of the room.
Next to that pressure plate there will also be a glowing crystal, and further on, on the other side of the room, there will be a dispenser that will produce a ball every few seconds, but we’ll get to that later.
The pressure plate and target can be seen to the left, the dispenser on the far wall in front of Link, as well as the glowing yellow crystal to his right.
For now you’ll want to head down the stairs to the lower level where you’ll notice a pair of white beams and a green stake on the left.
Using the Ultrahand ability, you’ll want to connect the two white beams and then that extended beam to the flat end of the stake.
Left: The components used to build the beam. Right: The beam constructed with the two white beams and the green stake at the end.
Once everything is connected, using Ultrahand again, move the entire beam and, with the end of the stake first, place it on the stone block in the center of the room. This is an actuator, and once the beam is connected, this will form the complete mechanism that, when the aforementioned crystal is hit, rotates hitting anything in its path.
Before returning to the crystal, you’ll want to move an unused stake located in the center of the room; You may have noticed that the top dispenser ball is locked by it before rolling off the platform, and you will need to reattach it. moved for this puzzle to be complete.
The beam is inserted into the actuator, stake end first. Ignore the green target in the background – we’ll get to that shortly!
Once the stake is out of the way, head back to the glass and once the ball reaches the next to last white tile on the ground, hit the glass, which will cause it to turn green and the lightning to swing and hit the ball.
Showing the glass turning green. Note: This is before the beam is built.
It may take a few tries to get it right, but the goal is to launch the ball down the ramp and reach the target on the far left.
Once you have successfully reached the objective, it will change from yellow to green and the door will open to complete the shrine.
The green target on the left wall is in the background.
However, before you leave, you must pick up the chest hidden in the room in front of the newly opened door.
To do this, you’ll want to repeat a similar process with the mechanism, but instead for a new objective that will just spawn after your success, to the far right of the room.
However, this time there is a hanging wall obstructing the ball’s path, so you will have to deal with it before continuing.
To do this, using Ultrahand, take one of the other two stakes found in the room and place it at the bottom of the block from which the wall hangs with chains; Push it all the way in and then lift up the wall. and select “attach” when prompted to hold the wall in place against the stake.
Left: Place the stake at the bottom of the block from which the wall is hanging. Right: Lifting the wall with Ultrahand and securing it to the placed stake.
Once this is done, return to the crystal, making sure it returns to its original state (it should glow yellow) and hit it again to spin the beam as the dispensing ball reaches the edge of the platform. You’ll want the beam to swing and hit the ball just before it completely touches the metal grate to launch it toward the new target.
As before, keep trying until you reach the objective, turning it green and opening the door to the secret chest.
Once this is done, grab your reward from the chest, then head to the other side of the room and interact with the statue to claim another Blessing Light and complete the Shrine.
Left: Opening the chest in the secret room. Right: The exit door to the Sanctuary that will open after reaching the objective on the left of the room.
