If you are playing the original versions of the game and purchased the DLC, it will appear in the game’s main menu to indicate that it is available. If you purchased the PS4, Xbox One, or PC version of the Special Edition, it will also be automatically included.

How to start the Dawnguard DLC in Skyrim
To get Dawnguard up and running, talk to the common guards wandering in or around major cities, and they will tell you about the Dawnguard faction. From there, you’ll unlock the ‘Dawnguard’ quest, with a quest marker guiding you to a cave (Dayspring Canyon) before heading to Fort Dawnguard, where you speak to someone inside to begin ‘Awakening’ and the DLC. How to start the Hearthfire DLC in Skyrim
Hearthfire is not a traditional story-driven expansion, but rather adds the ability to own plots of land, along with other smaller additions throughout the game (including adoption).

How to start the Dragonborn DLC in Skyrim
Play the main story by passing through ‘The Path of the Voice’ (where you climb the Throat of the World) and then visit a major city. You should see cultists walking around, who will ask you if you are the Dragonborn.
After the conversation, they should fight you. Check their bodies for orders directing you to the Windhelm Docks. Once there, find Gjalund Salt-Sage on the ship ‘The Northern Maiden’ and ask him to take you to Solstheim.
