All Dragon locations and routes in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

There are some dragons in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and they prowl both in the skies on the surface of Hyrule and in the dark depths below, which can make them hard to find. We recommend continuing to track dragons while they are on the surface as they are easier to spot and much easier to land with your glider.

As with most things in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you can board the landing and find the dragons however you want. We’ve listed their general location, tricky routes, and tips for safely getting to the back of each Dragon to help you out.

Before you start tracking down any of them, we highly recommend doing the regional phenomena in Rito Village to gain a useful ally and have at least two wheels full of stamina with plenty of stamina-boosting foods in your inventory.

When you’re ready, we’ll be here to show you all the dragon locations in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and tips for landing on their backs.

Naydra’s location and route in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Naydra can usually be found flying around Mount Lanayru and East Necluda in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Naydra is an ice dragon and can spit out icy balls if you get too close to her face, so we recommend equipping cold resistant armor and packing some cold resistant food or elixirs on Link before attempting to land on them.

The Naydra Route

This is the route Naydra took across the surface of Hyrule.

  • Emerges from the depths at Naydra’s Snowfield Chasm, south of Mount Lanayru.
  • Around Mount Lanayru.
  • Walnot Mountain.
  • Hateno Bay.
  • Ebon Mountain.
  • Meda Mountain.
  • On the cliffs of Quince.
  • About Bonooru’s post.
  • Past the village of Kakariko.
  • Descend into the depths in the East Hill Chasm east of Kakariko Village.

If you explore the areas listed above and keep an eye on the sky, you’re likely to see Naydra. However, if you’re struggling to find Naydra, she’s probably already in the Depths.

Launch sites to land in Naydra

We found that these are the best places you can launch Link from to land in Naydra:

Remember, the best place to jump from to get to the top of Naydra will depend on where you currently are. You will have to decide which launch site to go to and work from there.

Farosh location and route in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Farosh can usually be found flying around Lake Hylia and Gerudo Canyon in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Farosh is a Lightning Dragon, so we recommend removing any equipment that conducts electricity. We also recommend taking some shock-resistant foods and elixirs before attempting to land on the Dragon.

Farosh’s route

This is the route Farosh took across the surface of Hyrule.

  • Emerges from the depths in the East Gerudo Chasm.
  • Past Spectacular Rock.
  • Around the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower.
  • Past the Koukot plateau.
  • On Mount Nabooru.
  • On the other side of Gerudo Canyon.
  • Past Starly Plateau.
  • Over the Taobab grassland towards Mount Faloraa.
  • Over Mount Faloraa towards Hylia Island.
  • Pass south of Scouts Hill.
  • Enter the depths of the Hills of Baumer Chasm.

If you explore the areas listed above and keep an eye on the sky, you’ll likely see Farosh. If they are nowhere to be found, there is a good chance that they are already in the Depths.

We found these are the best places you can launch Link from to land on Farosh:

  • Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower.
  • Eastern Gerudo Sky Archipelago.

There aren’t too many options in the area to launch Link into the sky and land on Farosh, but if you have Tulin and a stamina-boosting food or two, you should be able to land on the Dragon.

Dinraal location and route in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Dinrall can usually be found around the Eldin Mountains and Deep Akkala in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Dinraal is a Fire Dragon and landing on it will get very hot very quickly. You will need armor and food or elixirs that improve your Flame Guard. Heat resistance will not work for this Dragon, it must be Flame Guard if you don’t want to burn it.

Dinraal Route

This is the route that Dinraal took across the surface of Hyrule.

  • Emerge from the depths in the abyss of the eastern plains of Akkala.
  • Above Lake Oktorok.
  • Along the eastern beach of Akkala.
  • Along the northern beach of Akkala.
  • Around and beyond the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab.
  • Passing Tumlea Heights.
  • Beyond Akkala Wilds.
  • Over Skull Lake.
  • On Eldin’s flank.
  • Past the mountains of Eldin.
  • On the ruins of Thyphlo.
  • Enter the depths in Dranan Highlands Chasm.

If you explore the areas listed above and watch the sky, chances are you’ll find Dinraal. If they are nowhere to be found, it is very likely that Dinraal is in the Depths.

There are a few Link starting options for this Dragon. The Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower is at the end of the Dinraal surface route, so if you knew they are on the surface, you can reach the tower and head ahead.

Location and route of the Light Dragon in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Now, the Dragon of Light is probably the most difficult Dragon to find in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, since its path covers the entire surface of Hyrule. However, we have detailed all the ways you can find the Light Dragon in our Master Sword guide.

We saw the Light Dragon by pure chance in our first few hours of playing while exploring the Great Sky Islands. If you do manage to spot this delightfully elusive creature, we recommend running to the nearest Skyview Tower to launch yourself high into the sky for the best starting point to land on.
