Red Dead Redemption 2 Strangers are side quests that run alongside the main story and often pave the way for even more activities in the game’s vast open world.
Stranger quests are optional and will not appear on the map automatically, they will only appear as a question mark and a white spot on the map when you approach them.
From there, you need to narrow down the location even further before doing an initial mission. Some are tied to collectibles and other activities, and others are questlines in their own right, and whether you decide to follow them from there is up to you.

Here are some strange places we’ve found, loosely in the order you found them in the story. Remember, if you lose them, you can always see them again later; just get closer and they should appear on the map again.

The location of the noblest man and a strangest woman in Red Dead Redemption 2
This is located in the hall in the northeast part of Valentine. Jim Boy Calloway will give you four photos of gunmen to locate. View his bag (right on the D-pad) and read the back of each photo to add their locations to your map.
Smoking and other hobbies Strangest location in Red Dead Redemption 2
This is located at Flatneck Station, outside the outhouse. This stranger will tell you about collectible playing cards. Get a complete set and you can sell them to them for a profit.
Location of All That Glitters Stranger in Red Dead Redemption 2
This is located on some cliffs west of Flatrock Station and north of the railroad. Buy the Explorer’s Treasure Map for $10 and you can begin your search for Jack Hall Gang Treasure Map locations.
Fan Academy Strangest Location in Red Dead Redemption 2
This is southwest of Riggs Station, in the middle of some trees. After the scene, you must recover the bag that was stolen by a coyote. Just chase it and it will drop next to a rock and then bring it to the stranger.

A Fisher of Fish Stranger location in Red Dead Redemption 2
We suspect you may need to complete A Fisher of Men in Chapter 2 before this appears. Either way, you’ll find it southeast of Flatneck Station, on a pier between there and Rhodes. This allows you to search for 13 legendary fish locations across the map, with the help of a map.
A Test of Faith Stranger location in Red Dead Redemption 2
You’ll find this Stranger location just northwest of Flatneck Station, in the desert. Look for the car and the person standing next to a dig site and you’ll be introduced to the paleontologist, who wants you to mail her dinosaur bones.
American Dreams Stranger location in Red Dead Redemption 2
This will only appear on your map when you find all three Killer Clue piece locations. Once you’ve done that, head southwest of Valentine so the radius appears on the map. The place you are looking for is the basement doors next to the destroyed cabin, on the west side.
