The A Valorous Hero event is the third in a trio of events celebrating the three team leaders in Pokémon Go. Like last month’s A Mysteric Hero event, this one adds a new costumed Pokémon for trainers to set their sights on: a Ponyta inspired by Team Valor leader Candela!
While you complete the A Valorous Hero special research quest to get your new Ponyta, you may also want to complete the A Valorous Hero: Timed Research quest and collect some of the event-exclusive field research tasks.

Steps of the mission ‘A Timed Investigation of a Brave Hero’ in Pokémon Go
A Valorous Hero: Timed Research is a quest you can complete during the A Valorous Hero event in Pokémon Go.
Unlike the A Valorous Hero special research mission, you only have until Wednesday, May 17 at 8 pm (local time) to complete A Valorous Hero: Timed Research. If you do not complete the quest before this deadline, it and its rewards will disappear forever.

- Power up Pokémon 10 times – 1000 Stardust

- Make 5 big throws: 10 raspberries
- Battle in a gym 3 times: 5 hyper potions

The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! Its first event is A Paldean Adventure, which sees the true launch of Gen 9 and the special research mission A Paldean Adventure. You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball mission and compete in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
Field Research Tasks of a Courageous Hero in Pokémon Go
You may get an event-exclusive Field Research task by spinning PokéStops during the A Valorous Hero event in Pokémon Go. You can save these tasks to your Field Research Collection and complete them after the event ends, if you wish.
These are the field research tasks for A Valorous Hero in Pokémon Go:
- Upgrade a Pokémon reward: 300 Stardust
- Power up a Pokémon 5 times the reward: 1000 Stardust
- Power up a Pokémon 10 times the reward: Ponyta encounter
- Gym Battle Reward: 3 Hyper Potions
- Battle 3 Team Go Rocket Grunts Reward: 5 Revives

Everything we know about A Courageous Hero in Pokémon Go
The A Valorous Hero event in Pokémon Go will run until Wednesday, May 17 at 8 pm (local time). During this time, you can begin the A Courageous Hero special research quest, complete the event’s timed research quest, and work on the seasonal special research quest, Let’s Go!
There are also three bonuses you can enjoy during this event, and the first two focus on catching Pokémon. You’ll receive double the amount of Candy for catching Pokémon, and Trainers will have double the chance of getting XL Candy for catching Pokémon (starting at Trainer level 31).
Finally, in addition to the aforementioned Ponyta in disguise, this event features two Pokémon that Trainers will want to keep an eye on: Mega Pinsir will be in Mega Raids for the first time, and Go Battle League favorite Tapu Fini will get its shiny in the world of Pokémon Go!
