The battle pass expiration time usually coincides with the end of the season, so after these times, Fortnite will go into a downtime for several hours in preparation for the new season.

Traditionally, however, Fortnite’s downtime can last between three and five. hours, meaning that in the UK, Fortnite could be back online between 10am and 11am This is our speculation based on past season releases, so don’t take our word for it.

Everything we know about Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 will be about Ancient Greece and its mythology, a fact that Epic has hinted at several times over the past week.

More recently, on Tuesday, March 5, the official fortnite x (the social media platform formally known as Twitter) posted an image of a mysterious figure wielding a chain ending with what appears to be a snake skull. The identity of this figure is currently unknown, but judging by the green hue, it could be Hades. We also don’t know if this will be an upcoming Battle Pass skin or not.

This image was preceded by an image of Zeus, king of the gods, as well as the sky and thunder, in Greek mythology, on Monday, March 4. Whether he will be one of the new skins, an NPC or maybe even a boss remains to be seen…

It would be cool if we had an Artemis or Athena skin.

The most notable message: ‘Greek mythology is coming!’ One clue, however, was the giant hand that emerged from the ground near the Ruined Reels location on the Fortnite island over this past weekend. (Ruined Reels is literally a set of ancient Greek ruins, with statues of raised Fishsticks.)

From this hand, and chained, hung a chest. It didn’t stay closed for long, however, as the Fortnite community quickly smashed the chains into pieces with their harvesting tools to reveal what treasures might be hidden inside…

However, in Greek mythology, chests do not always contain treasure, and when opened, the box released a column of flames. Now, there is only one notable chest in Greek mythology, and when the flames are taken into account, it is not difficult to assume that this chest is, in fact, Pandora’s Box.

I don’t often (if ever) use my knowledge of ancient Greek or civilizational mythology when writing about video games, so I hope you’ll excuse me while I digress for a while with one. Regular Fortnite content will return shortly.

It was said that Pandora was the first human woman created and was made by Hephaestus following the instructions of Zeus. She was then given to Epimetheus, the brother of Prometheus (who is famous for stealing fire for humanity and in return had his liver eaten by an eagle every day until he was rescued by Heracles), and brought with him a jug.

Yes, in the original accounts of the myth, Pandora’s Box is actually Pandora’s Jar. This change is probably due to a poor translation by Erasmus in the 16th century, who changed ‘pithos’ (ancient Greek, large storage jar) to ‘pyxis’ (roughly meaning vessel). Let’s go back to Pandora.

Like anyone who is given something they are told not to open, Pandora opened that jar (or box if necessary) immediately and released all kinds of evil upon the world. Only one being remained in the bottle: Elpis, the spirit of hope. Before Elpis could consider escaping, Pandora firmly replaced the lid of the jar. Is hope trapped inside the jar, kept away from the world or kept safe within it? Well, that depends on you…

The point is: a huge column of flame coming from a chest tied with a chain before a season of ancient Greek mythology? Probably bad news.

In addition to the giant hand, Fortnite has also seen the arrival of Odyssey and its Mosaic Snapshot missions. Odyssey is obviously a reference to Homer’s Odyssey, an epic poem about Odysseus’ long journey home after the Trojan War. You can find Odyssey wandering around the Ruined Reels and we wouldn’t be surprised if he continues to hang out on the island after the release of Chapter 5, Season 2.

Finally, Mark Rein, vice president and co-founder of Epic Games, has given his traditional one-word clue for the upcoming season: Wings.

Now, whether this means you’ll be able to ride flying animals like Pegasus, gain wings that allow your characters to fly, be able to fight creatures like harpies, or trade in your hard-earned V-Bucks for winged-themed cosmetics remains to be seen. . We should find out very soon…

I hope you’re looking forward to Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2!
