How to pressure Thunderclaw in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Pressing a Thunderclaw in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is one of the tasks you must complete when taking on the sixth Fiend World Intel task from Chadley in the Grasslands region.

This brilliant Grasslands Wolf variant will keep you on your toes in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. They are much more agile than their original counterparts and you will need to use a special attack type to pressure them before time runs out.

Without further ado, gather your Materia and MP as we’re here to show you how to press a Thunderclaw in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Thunderclaw location in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

The Thunderclaw can be found in the northwestern part of the Grasslands region. This enemy is part of Chadley’s Fiend Intel 6: Voltaic Canine World Intel task. There are two Thunderclaws in this location, but you can always try the task again if you don’t complete all the tasks the first time.

These are the Fiend Intel tasks for Thunderclaw:

  • Pressure an enemy.
  • Stagger an enemy.
  • Defeat all enemies within the time limit.

How to pressure a Thunderclaw in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

To pressure Thunderclaw in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you must inflict a status effect on them once the bar under their health bar is more than half full.

We found that these spells work best for pressuring Thunderclaws:

  • Bio: If you are attempting this battle when you are first in the Grasslands, equip Red XIII to your party for this.
  • Biora
  • Unprotect
  • shell

Essentially, any non-elemental attack or status effect spell that has a negative impact on Thunderclaw will pressure them. The type of status effect you can inflict on them will depend on what Materia you have equipped, how much MP you have to use, and at what point in the story you decide to take on this Fiend duo.

As we revisited this battle against Demons later in the story, we had more options to inflict a status effect on them than when we started in the Grasslands, so if you don’t manage to pressure them on your first attempts, then I recommend completing the region to collect more Matter and then return another time.
