Far Cry 6 follows the series’ tradition by offering a secret ending.
This occurs long before the actual ending occurs, meaning you get to see an alternate outcome at the end of the story.
That said, you only have a small window to view it, and doing so will earn you a Trophy/Achievement for your trouble.

How to unlock the secret ending in Far Cry 6
Far Cry 6’s secret ending is easily overlooked, even though it’s explained to you as an option: just keep going.
Once you have completed the Libertad Rises quest and left the starting island of Sanctuary Island, you will help establish the Libertad headquarters on the Zamok Archipelago within the game’s opening hours.
When you first arrive, there will be a cutscene where you are given a boat so you can sail off into the sunset. Canonically, Dani will continue the fight with Juan and Clara, and as you progress towards the mission waypoints, the story will continue.
However, starting at any point, you’ll be able to board a ship (or we imagine, a plane) and travel to the edge of the map to exit Yara, which will play out the secret ending. You know you’re there when the message ‘Leaving Yara, turn around!’ appears on the screen.

After watching the secret ending, you can load your save game and you will return to the starting point on Esperanza’s rooftop. You’re not trapped here, meaning you can fast travel to a previously unlocked location, but you’re free to explore this high-level endgame area if you wish.

Far Cry 6 post-credits scene explained
Despite the secret ending above and the opportunity for multiple paths to the end, there is only one “main” ending for Far Cry 6.
We won’t give that away here, but we will discuss the post-credits scene, which might have you asking some questions. You can see it in the video embedded at the top of this page, from minute 27:17.
You will see (spoilers ahead) Juan meet a character called the Smuggler.
Far Cry fans might recognize the voice of Michael Mando, aka Vaas, the most iconic character in Far Cry 3 and arguably the most popular in the series.
However, those who played Far Cry 3 will remember Vaas’ death as part of the story. So what is going on? It’s suggested that since Far Cry 6 is an alternate universe at the end of Far Cry 5 (which left the world in a state where, say, other Far Cry games could easily not exist), then it’s possible that Vaas is still here. alive.
Vaas will officially return as part of the Far Cry 6 Season Pass DLC, which features three standalone episodes featuring Far Cry villains Pagan Min and Joseph Seed. Are they not as independent as what has been announced so far? Could you tell us more about what is happening?
