The storage shed is a new item that allows you to access your home storage remotely. It will quickly become a vital reference point for freeing up your inventory or grabbing needed items without the need to backtrack to your home.
To unlock the storage shed in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you must first have fully upgraded your house and then pay an additional 500,000 bells to expand your storage even further.

From here, two storage sheds are available: a wooden storage shed (from a DIY recipe, available immediately for 6000 bells) and a larger storage shed (also available for 6000 bells, but arrives by mail at next day).
The wood storage shed in particular requires 30x wood, hardwood, softwood, and 10x iron nuggets to craft.
