Overwatch Season 1 Level 80 Mythic Skin Cyberdemon Explained
At level 80, the final level of the Overwatch Season 1 Battle Pass, you’ll unlock the Cyber Demon skin for Genji.
Reaching level 80 also unlocks the Demonic Deflection spray and the Cyber Demon player icon:
Mythic is a new skin tier for Overwatch and, at launch, is only available by leveling up the Battle Pass, with one new Mythic planned per season.
They are unique and valuable because they can be personalized, allowing you to change colors and patterns to make them your own. As a result, it takes Blizzard a long time to create them.
“One of the things about mythic masks is that they take us over a year to build… that whole process, from start to finish, takes over a year. So we’re already working on mythic masks that you won’t see.” until the end of 2023 and beyond,” commercial director Jon Spector told Eurogamer.
“So when we look at, well, we’re launching a mythic skin in each of the first seasons and we have thirty-five amazing heroes, we might get to a point where, in the future, we would want to create forms for a new player that lost the mythical Genji, because he didn’t play in the first season, where it might make sense to offer him a path to obtain that skin.
“But we don’t have any specific plans to do so in the near future.”
How to unlock Kiriko in Overwatch 2 Season 1
Kiriko, the new hero introduced in Season 1 of Overwatch 2, can be unlocked in two ways:
- Tier 1 for premium Battle Pass players and/or Overwatch 1 players
- Level 55 for free Battle Pass players
In other words, if you pay for the premium Season 1 Battle Pass, Kiriko is an instant unlock; otherwise, you must play until Level 55 if you play without it.
How long will this take? According to Blizzard in an interview with Eurogamer, for “the more average player, we hope to unlock new heroes a little later in the season, but be able to get there well before the season ends,” according to Spector.
This is useful in the sense that if you are completely new to Overwatch, you can at least familiarize yourself with the game before spending money and risking trying out a new character and hopefully unlocking it for free by then.
Either way, since the Battle Pass ends at Tier 80, this is most of the way through Battle Pass progression. If you want the character quickly, then paying for the premium track is the way to go.
