Pokémon Go Evolving Stars Collection Challenges and field research tasks

The Evolving Stars event in Pokémon Go is themed, as its name suggests, on the evolution of Pokémon from the different regions of the Pokémon universe.

It also brought us steps 5-8 of the A Cosmic Companion special research quest, which involves adding the newly released Cosmoem to your Pokédex.

As you continue Cosmog’s story in Pokémon Go, you can also complete four Evolving Star Collection challenges and a selection of field research tasks exclusive to the event.

Mega Gyarados’ raid day also takes place during the Evolving Stars event, which is perfect for anyone looking to collect this Pokémon’s Mega Energy.

Evolving Star Eevee Challenge Pokémon List in Pokémon Go

Evolving Stars: Eevee Challenge is one of four collection challenges released as part of the Evolving Stars event in Pokémon Go. Because of this, you must complete this challenge before 8 pm (local time) on Tuesday, October 11.

Vaporeon.

Since the topic of this collection challenge is eeveelutions, we recommend visiting our page on how to evolve Eevee. Fortunately, Eevee appear more frequently in the wild during this event, so you can keep evolving them until you get the right eeveelutions.

Here are the Pokémon in Evolving Stars: Eevee Challenge, along with how to find them:

  • Vaporeon: Evolve into Eevee using 25 Eevee candies (randomly selected)
  • Jolteon: Evolve into Eevee using 25 Eevee Sweets (randomly selected)
  • Flareon: Evolve into Eevee using 25 Eevee candies (randomly selected)

Rewards: An upgrade and a metal cape.

Evolving Star Trading Challenge Pokémon List in Pokémon Go

Evolving Stars: Trading Challenge is the second collection challenge for the Evolving Stars event in Pokémon Go and you have until 8 pm (local time) on Tuesday, October 11 to complete it.

Gengar.

This challenge involves getting two of the Gen 1 Pokémon that, in the main games, can only be obtained through trading. In Pokémon Go, you need 100 candies for its evolutions or you can eliminate this requirement by trading them with another player before completing the evolution yourself.

Here are the Pokémon in Evolving Stars: Trade Challenge, along with how to find them:

  • Gengar: Evolve into Haunter using 100 Gastly Candy or receive it from another player to remove the candy requirement.
  • Alakazam: Evolve into Kadabra using 100 Abra Candy or receive it from another player to remove the candy requirement.

Rewards: a dragon scale, a sun stone, and a king’s rock.

List of Pokémon from the Sinnoh Star Evolution Challenge in Pokémon Go

Evolving Stars: Sinnoh Challenge is one of the collection challenges for the Evolving Stars event in Pokémon Go. You have until 8 pm (local time) on Tuesday, October 11 to complete this challenge or you will miss out on the rewards.

Kirlia.

For this challenge, you must earn four Pokémon that can only reach their final evolution using the Sinnoh Stone in Pokémon Go. The problem, however, is that these Pokémon will only count towards this Collection Challenge if you obtain them through evolution.

Fortunately, all of your first stage evolvers, like Rhyhorn, appear more frequently during the Evolving Stars event, so you shouldn’t have much trouble collecting their candies.

Here are the Pokémon in Evolving Stars: Sinnoh Challenge, along with how to find them:

  • Rhydon: Evolve into Rhyhorn using 25 Rhyhorn Candies.
  • Piloswine: Evolve into Swinub using 25 Swinub Candies
  • Kirlia: Evolve into Ralts using 25 Ralts Candies.
  • Dusclops: Evolve into Duskull using 25 Duskull Sweets.

Rewards: Four Sinnoh stones.

List of Pokémon in the Unova Evolving Star Challenge in Pokémon Go

Evolving Stars: Unova Challenge is the last of four collection challenges released during the Evolving Stars event in Pokémon Go. Like previous challenges, you must complete the Unova Challenge before 8 pm (local time) on Tuesday, October 11 to earn its rewards.

Lamp.

This challenge involves getting two Pokémon that require the Unova Stone for their final evolutions, but you don’t actually need a Unova Stone. Just remember: you must earn these Pokémon through evolution to complete this Collection Challenge!

Fortunately, like the previous challenge, their first stage evolutions, like Litwick, have a higher spawn rate during the Evolving Stars event, which will make them much easier to find.

Here are the Pokémon in Evolving Stars: Unova Challenge, along with how to find them:

  • Elektrik: Evolve into Tynamo using 25 Tynamo Candies.
  • Lampent: Evolve into Litwick using 25 Litwick Candies.

Reward: two Unova stones.

The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! The Psychic Spectular event is back! You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball mission and compete in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

Mega Gyarados Raid Day in Pokémon Go Explained

The Mega Gyarados Raid Day will take place on Saturday, October 8 between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm (local time).

Mega Gyarados will appear more frequently in raids during this time period, making it the perfect opportunity to collect its Mega Energy, especially if you haven’t completed this Mega Evolution for the first time yet.

If you plan to participate in this mini-event, be sure to collect the five additional Raid Passes by spinning the photo discs in the gym.

Finally, Gyarados has a higher shine rate during this raid day, so we hope you come across the elusive red Gyarados!

Everything you need to know about the Evolving Stars event in Pokémon Go

The main feature of the Evolving Stars event in Pokémon Go is the update to the A Cosmic Companion special research quest, which sees the release of steps 5 to 8 of the quest.

Completing these new quest steps will allow you to add Cosmeom, the evolved form of Cosmog from Gen 7, to your Pokédex!

If you have already completed the previous steps of the quest, you will find that step 4 of the quest finally has a challenge that only you can do, and after doing so, you will be able to continue with the quest. However, if you haven’t started A Cosmic Companion yet, you can simply skip ahead to quest step 8 to make sure you’re ready for the next and final set of quest steps.

It’s important to remember that while A Cosmic Companion has no deadline, you must unlock it by logging into Pokémon Go by Thursday, December 1 at 9:59 am (local time) or else you won’t be able to add Cosmog, and now! Cosmoem, to your Pokédex!

Visit our dedicated A Cosmic Companion page to find all steps for currently published quests!

You can now catch Shiny Xerneas in Pokémon Go.

Xerneas’ Brilliant Form was also released as part of this event, and this legendary will be taking over Yveltal’s five-star raids on Saturday, October 8.

In one-star raids, you will find Slowpoke, Onix, Scyther, Porygon, and Sunkern. The main Pokémon of the three-star raids are Magneton, Rhydon, Togetic and Piloswine, so if you are missing something from their evolution, try participating in a raid to collect the candy you need.

Mega Lopunny will appear in Mega Raids until Saturday, October 8 at 10 am (local time), at which time Mega Manectric will take center stage.

Meanwhile, the following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild during the Evolving Stars event:

Litwick.

  • kakuna
  • Pidgeotto
  • poliwhirl
  • kadabra
  • Persecutor
  • Rhyhorn
  • Seadra
  • Scythe
  • Eevee
  • Swinub
  • Ralts
  • dark skull
  • tinamo
  • litwick
  • helioptile

Finally, from Thursday, October 6 to Thursday, October 13, you can participate in the Evolution Cup in Go Battle League.

Have fun during the Evolving Stars event!
