Warzone Season 3 release time, and what’s new in the Season 3 update

Warzone Season 3 is almost here, offering new additions to both Battle Royale and Vanguard modes.

With the theme Ranked Weapons, the new season, as always, features a new Battle Pass, new operators and weapons.

It also paves the way for the Operation Monarch event in May, which will feature a surprise collaboration between Warzone, Godzilla, and King Kong.

The Warzone Season 3 release date is Wednesday, April 27.

The day of the week when major Warzone updates arrive is a bit unpredictable: it’s mostly been a Thursday, but last season saw a drop of Monday, Valentine’s Day. It’s now Wednesday, which at least gives us a good head start until the weekend.

The Warzone Season 3 release time is as follows:

• UK: 5pm (BST)
• Europe: 6:00 p.m. (CEST)
• US East Coast: 12 pm (EDT)
• US West Coast: 9am (PDT)

Note to Vanguard players: Updates will be released 24 hours early, on Tuesday at 9am PDT.

As usual, be prepared for release times to be delayed in case there are last-minute changes or hiccups on the part of the developer. Call of Duty is pretty reliable in this regard, but you never know.

After that, be sure to mark May 11 in your diary for the launch of Operation Monarch, when many of the new map additions will take place (see below).

What’s new in Warzone Season 3?

The theme of the Season 3 update is “Classified Weapons”, with the tagline “The Monster of All Seasons” with new POIs centered around that.

This includes:

• Previews of Operation Monarch, which will have a Godzilla vs Kong theme: expect to discover unusual skeletal remains, cave paintings, and a “supernatural axe” throughout Caldera.

• Part of this is the excavation site’s new point of interest, located between the ruins and the mines. Elsewhere, Runway, Peak and Lagoon have also seen updates.

• A new Gulag for the Caldera map, the Hold, described as a “more or less symmetrical arena.”

• New operators (including Mateo Hernández at launch, see below) and new weapons; the Marksman M1916 rifle and the Nikita AVT assault rifle (launch) and Sledgehammer Melee and H4 Blixen SMG (mid-season).
