Saharah is one of the rotating visitors who will spend a random day on your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Unlike other special visitors, such as KK Slider and Gulliver, Saharah is a camel peddler who visits his island to sell his wares.
Purchasing Saharah Rugs will earn you Saharah Tickets, which you can redeem for wallpaper and mystery flooring.

Saharah departure time and price list in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained
Saharah can visit your island any day and will stay until 5am, which is the reset time for every island in New Horizons. She doesn’t stay in one place during your visits, but rather she chooses to wander around your island.
This traveling dealer sells a variety of rugs (small, medium and large), mysterious wallpapers and mysterious floors. All of these items are exclusive to Saharah and you don’t know which one you’re buying until you bring it in.
The Mysterious Wallpaper and Mysterious Floor cost 3000 Bells each.
Meanwhile, rug prices depend on the size of the rug, with individual prices being as follows:
- Small rug – 1,000 bells
- Medium Rug – 1,500 Bells
- Large rug – 2000 bells
Saharah only sells one of each item per visit, so if you have the spare bells, it’s definitely worth buying their entire stock. In total, this will cost you 10,500 bells.
If you visit a friend’s island and find out that Saharah is the city, you will be able to buy anything from her stock, just life if she were on your island. Saharah tickets in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained
Saharah will reward you with several Saharah Tickets every time you buy a rug from her in New Horizons. Once you have five Saharah Tickets, you can exchange them for a Mystery Wallpaper or Floor.
These are the rug sizes and the corresponding number of Saharah tickets you receive for the purchase of each one:
- Small rug: a Saharah bill
- Medium rug – two entrances Saharah
- Large rug – three entrances Saharah
You can receive a total of six Saharah Tickets each time she visits you, and each time the camel is on your island, you can redeem a total of 10 Saharah Tickets.
Despite this, you can only redeem one mystery wallpaper and one mystery floor per visit to Saharah. This means that if you traded five Saharah Tickets for a Mystery Wallpaper, then for your second redemption, you will be given the Mystery Floor.
Saharah tickets can be stored in your home storage, allowing you to easily store them between your visits.
Animated wallpaper and floors in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained
If you’re lucky, Saharah might sell you a live wallpaper or a flat. These rare decorations have an element of animation, as the name suggests, which allows you to bring additional dynamism to a room in your house.
The animated wallpaper may include moving clouds, pouring rain, or the flickering of a light, as seen on the server room wall.
Meanwhile, the animated floor only occurs when your avatar runs across the floor. This could be anything from dust clouds to rippling water to footprints in the sand. The lava floor, for example, will splash lava when you run through the magma flow.
However, not all live wallpapers can be brought from Saharah. The cherry blossom wall can be created after learning its homemade recipe, which is part of the cherry blossom season event.
