Featured Attacks During the Winter Holiday Event in Pokémon Go

Kyurem.

As with the first part of this event, with Sacred Sword Cobalion, there is an event-exclusive featured attack in the Winter Holiday Part 2 event.

If you catch a Kyurem through a five-star raid before January 1, 2023 at 10 am (local time), it will know the ice-type charged attack, Glaciate.

Kyurem’s signature move, Glaciate, has the following power in Pokémon Go:

  • Trainer Battles – 60 Power
  • Gyms and raids – 160 Power

If you’re curious if this will make a difference in the Master League, the short answer is no. As far as raiding goes, this is a devastating move that you’ll want to have access to if you’re fighting something that’s particularly weak to Ice-type attacks: Flying, Grass, and Ground.

Additionally, the number of guaranteed lucky Pokémon a trainer can receive when trading a Pokémon caught in 2017 has been increased from 10 to 15. This feature only activates with the Winter Wonderland event, not with the start of Part 2, as stated. clarifies Niantic below. :

Trainers, we would like to clarify that the Lucky Trade guaranteed with the Pokémon 2017 Update will be available with the start of the Winter Wonderland event on December 24, 2022 at 10 am local time and not with the start of the Winter Holiday Part 2 event.
