You must put the symbols in the correct order during Chapter 2 of A Plague Tale: Requiem in order to further explore the south tower and find Magister Vaudin, who can hopefully help Hugo.
Lucas will give you helpful descriptions of which symbols you need to change each bell to, but he’s a little eager and jumps ahead while you’re still trying to find a previous symbol, which can make the puzzle more complicated than it should be.

A Plague Tale Requiem Bell Symbol Puzzle Solution
To open the secret entrance in the south tower, you must solve the bell symbol puzzle by throwing stones with your sling at each of the four bells until they show the symbols that Lucas describes to you.
To avoid wasting resources, make sure you only throw the normal stones from your slingshot, not the Ignifer covers. You can change the type of stones by pressing left or right on the d-pad on the weapon wheel if you are playing with a controller.
From left to right, these are the correct symbols you need to show to solve the bell puzzle:
- Bell 1: The symbol of Jupiter, it looks like a ‘Z’ or a ‘3’.
- Bell 2: It is a shield pierced by a spear, a circle with a line through it.
- Bell 3: shaped like a necklace, a circle with a line below
- Bell 4: a staff with two intertwined snakes, a circle superimposed with a line below.
If you prefer to look at the symbols, here are bell 1 and bell 2, located to the left of the sun in the middle:
And here are bell 3 and bell 4, located to the right of the sun in the middle:
Amicia will react when you turn the bell to the correct symbol, telling you to move on to the next one.
Once the four bells turn to their correct symbols, the door on the left will unlock and you can explore the south tower further in your search for Magister Vaudin.
