Blue Bet Locations in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The Firescourge Shrine stakes have a gloomy blue glow, and after rolling all eight, you can catch Chi-Yu in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Stakes can be found in the Eastern and Northern provinces, with some found on Glazed Mountain and within Tagtree Thicket.

While you must defeat the Open Sky Titan and the False Dragon Titan to swim and climb to reach everything at stake, we recommend unlocking all of Koraidon/Miraidon’s travel abilities. This is because it will make getting around Paldea easier in general.

If you want to learn about the myth surrounding the Ruinous Pokémon and place the shrine locations on your world map, complete the history lessons at the Academy and follow Raifort’s story. However, doing this is not a requirement to do what is at stake.

Below you will find the eight blue bet locations in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet:

Blue Stake 1 Location

For the first bet, fly to the Levincia Pokémon Center (North) or, if unlocked, to the Levincia Lighthouse. Then, go up the hill directly west of the nearby lighthouse to find the stake.

Blue Stake 2 Location

A stake can be found in the northern section of Tagtree Thicket.

The easiest way to find it is to fly to the Eastern Province Pokémon Center (Area Three) and head into the wilderness. Now, pass the Team Star Poison Crew base and cross the river, continuing north until you pass a pond. This will take you to a cliff, which you must climb to find the stake next to a tree at the top.

Travel through Tagtree Thicket until you pass the pond and climb the cliff.

Blue Stake 3 Location

For this challenge, we recommend flying to the Glasado Gym, before heading south, where you can see the Team Star Poison Crew base from Glasado Mountain. Once there, you will be able to see a small patch of grass with a tree on the side of the mountain.

Head to this location to find the stake.

Now all you have to do is slide or drop down to this spot to find the stake.

Location of Blue Stake 4

A stake can be found on the beach in the northeast corner of Frosting Mountain. The easiest way to get there is to fly to the Glazed Gym and travel north until you reach this small area where you will quickly see the stake.

Location of Blue Stake 5

This stake is located at the top of the hill directly north of the Northern Province Pokémon Center (Area One); all you need to do is go up the hill to find it.

Location of Blue Stake 6

For this bet, fly to the Northern Province Pokémon Center (Area Two) and climb the hill directly east of the building. Here you will find the stake next to a tree.

Blue Stake 7 Location

This stake can be easily found after you have picked up Stake 6 or Stake 8. To find it, you will need to climb the hill on the right side of Fury Falls and then follow the path until you reach a pond.

Go up this hill.

Once there, go up the hill on the east side (you’ll want to avoid entering the Team Star Fighting Crew base) and follow the path east until you reach a ruined building.

Go up this hill and continue until you reach the ruins.

The stake can be found inside this ruin.

Location of Blue Stake 8

This stake can be found at the top of Fury Falls and directly above the Firescourge Shrine. All you need to do is keep going up the mountain until you find it.

Once you have pulled the last stake, a roar will be heard from the sanctuary. However, before fighting Chi-Yu, we recommend purchasing some Ultra Balls and healing items, such as Max Potions.

Firescourge Shrine Location in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The Firescourge Shrine is located in the Northern Province (Area Two) and is located inside a cave at the top of Fury Falls, which is southeast of this area’s Pokémon Center.

Where to find the Firescourge Shrine.

If you have completed the history lessons at the Academy and followed Raifort’s story, the shrines will be placed on your world map. This will allow you to quickly travel to your locations.

If you’d prefer to reach the shrine in Pokémon on your way back, fly to the Northern Province (Area Two) or, if you’ve unlocked it, to Fury Falls. Once you’re at Fury Falls, climb the mountain where the waterfall emerges from until you reach a small pool near the top.

Climb the cliff between the waterfalls to reach the cave containing the shrine.

Here you will find a small tunnel that will take you to the cave that contains the sanctuary. Be careful though, as this small cave is overrun with wild Pokémon and you may be forced to engage in a series of battles as they swarm around you.

How to catch Chi-Yu in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Chi-Yu is a level 60 Dark and Fire-type Pokémon.

This means that it is weak against Fighting, Ground, Rock, and Water-type Pokémon. Meanwhile, psychic type attacks will have no effect on Chi-Yu.

We recommend stocking up on Ultra Balls and healing items, such as Max Potion, before attempting to catch Chi-Yu.

It’s a good idea to start the battle with a Pokémon that has an advantage and is at a similar level to Chi-Yu as the lead Pokémon. This will help you take down his health without having to worry about knocking him out.

You can also use Dark, Fire, Ghost, Grass, Ice, and Steel type attacks, which are not as effective against Chi-Yu, to slowly chip away at his health. Biting, for example, is a good move because it can make Chi-Yu flinch and, in doing so, prevent him from attacking. However, keep in mind that Grass, Ice, and Steel types will be especially weak to one of Chi-Yu’s moves.

Paralyzing or putting Chi-Yu to sleep will also help you catch this Pokémon, because both status effects will help prevent Chi-Yu from attacking. Just avoid poisoning Chi-Yu!

We quickly trapped Chi-Yu in an Ultra Ball, but if your battle lasts a considerable amount of turns, you might want to try using a Timer Ball. This Poké Ball will become more effective with each turn your game takes.

Chi-Yu has the Beads of Ruin ability, which reduces the Special Defense stat of all Pokémon except itself.

Chi-Yu will have the following moveset when you catch him:

Move Guy Category Effect Force Accuracy PAGES
lava plume Fire Special The user burns everything around them in an inferno of scarlet flames. This can also cause burns to those he hits. 80 100 fifteen
Ruin Dark Special The user summons a ruinous disaster. This reduces the target’s HP by half. N/A 90 10
Bounce Flying Physical The user bounces high on the first turn and then falls onto the target on the next turn. This can also leave the target paralyzed. 85 85 5
Strut Normal State The user attacks and confuses the target. However, this also greatly increases the target’s attack stat. N/A 85 fifteen

After catching Chi-Yu, you might want to add Chien-Pao, Wo-Chien, or Ting-Lu to your Pokédex?

If you took history lessons at the Academy to learn more about the history of these Pokémon, be sure to return to Raifort after capturing all four Pokémon for an additional reward.

Good luck catching Chi-Yu!
