Finding the Jaeger family basement in Fortnite is one of the eight mission challenges you must complete to unlock Eren Jaeger. The quest itself gives you a specific area where the basement is located, but it doesn’t tell you exactly where it is.
Like most things in Fortnite, searching the basement is a dangerous task. There are many buildings around and there are many places where they could catch you off guard and knock you down. Also, the area the quest mentions, Anvil Square, is currently a popular drop-off location, so be prepared for a fight when you get there.

How to find the Jaeger family basement in Fortnite
The Jaeger family basement is somewhere in Anvil Square (which we know from the quest requirement). However, there are quite a few buildings in this area that can make it easier for other players to ambush you and harder for you to find the basement quickly.
The Jaeger family basement is located in a large building in the southeast section of Anvil Square. We have marked its exact location on the map below.
We’ve found it’s easier to mark this location while you’re still on the bus, making it easier to get to the right area.
When you reach the area marked on the map above, look for the building that faces the river. It’s a little easier to spot from the air, here’s what the building looks like as you glide into the area:
You should see a protected ledge on the right side of the building if you look at it from the river side. Head to this ledge and then look to your left, you should see a set of stairs leading down to a lower area. The door at the bottom of the stairs leads to the Jager family basement.
All you need to do to complete the quest is walk inside the room until it registers as found.

How to find the Jaeger Family Basement reward in Fortnite explained
Once you complete the mission to find the Jaeger family basement, you will be rewarded with the Basement Key Back Bling cosmetic.
You will also have completed one of the eight missions necessary to obtain Eren Jaeger.
Find the problem to complete the Jaeger Family Basement quest in Fortnite
Many players are currently reporting that the mission will not register as complete if you have not purchased the Battle Pass. In a recent tweet, Epic Games stated that they are aware of the issue and are currently working on a fix.
We are aware of an issue with the quest “Find the Jaeger Family Basement in Anvil Square” that will prevent it from being completed if you visit the Jaeger Basement before purchasing the Battle Pass.
