Zelda: Skyward Sword - Adventure Pouch: How to upgrade the Adventure Pouch and the Item Check explained

The Adventure Bag is a form of item storage exclusive to The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

It ensures that you can only bring a certain amount of items on your adventure, which includes your shield and empty bottles. Fortunately, you can upgrade the adventure bag.

Still, you will periodically visit the Item Check in Skyloft to manage your items.

Adventure Bag in Zelda: Skyward Sword Explained

The adventure bag is an important feature of Skyward Sword, because this is where you will store your shield, potions, medals, and items like bomb bags or extra wallets.

However, it doesn’t contain any of the special tools or items you’ll collect during your adventure, such as the wooden bow, scarab, or burst bellows, so you never have to worry about leaving an important item behind.

You will first receive Fledge’s Adventure Bag when you leave Skyloft for the first time.

Initially, the Adventure Bag will only have four slots, but can be upgraded to a total of eight. These upgrades are essential because without them, you’ll find yourself constantly moving between the surface world and Skyloft while trying to manage your items.

Checking items in Zelda: Skyward Sword explained

Items that don’t fit in your Adventure Bag in Skyward Sword are stored in the Item Log, which is located in the Skyloft Bazaar.

As you progress through the game, you’ll visit the Item Check regularly, so you can change your shield or bring extra bomb bags. You might even get closer to Peatrice, who runs this storage center.

If you find an important item, such as a new empty bottle, when your Adventure Bag is full, this new item will automatically be sent to Item Check.

Our Skyward Sword walkthrough will help you find every heart piece and empty bottle. We can also help you defeat Ghirahim, Scaldera, Moldarach, The Imprisoned, Koloktos, Tentalus, Bilopathy and Demise. You can also find out where to find Kukiel to unlock the Gratitude Crystals and a series of side quests, including the toilet paper quest, the missing sister’s location, and the party wheel location.

How to Upgrade the Adventure Bag in Zelda: Skyward Sword

The Skyward Sword Adventure Bag can be upgraded four times, allowing you to carry a total of eight items, from medals to quivers to extra wallets, on your journey through Hyrule.

The first Adventure Pouch slot is found by using a Skyward Strike on the first Goddess Cube you find in The Deep Woods. This will activate the Goddess Chest located outside of Lumpy Pumpkin in Pumpkin Landing in the sky.

The following three upgrades are purchased from Beedle’s Airshop at the following prices:

  • First place: 300 rupees
  • Second place: 600 rupees
  • Third place: 1200 rupees

To pay for the second Adventure Bag, you will first need to buy the Big Wallet from Beedle, and for the third, you will need to buy the Giant Wallet from him.

Good luck completing your Adventure Bag and don’t forget to visit our Skyward Sword walkthrough!
