Where to find Scarab locations in Genshin Impact

The scarab is a beetle that you can find crawling through the sand in the desert region of Sumeru or underground, and which you will find vital for ascending some Genshin Impact characters.

Genshin Impact 3.1 introduced the polearm-wielding five-star Electro character Cyno. One of his ascension materials is the Scarab, so if you’ve already been lucky enough to unlock it, you’ll need these bugs if you want to power him up.

To make sure you can max out this powerful character as quickly as possible, this guide covers everything you need to know about how you can use Scarab and where to find it.

Where to find beetle in Genshin Impact

You’ll find beetles in Genshin Impact exclusively in the Sumeru region, specifically in the western desert region that arrived as part of the 3.1 update.

You can get your first Scarab through a cavern tunnel right next to the first Statue of the Seven when you first arrive in the desert. The village of Aaru is just ahead and if you head northwest of the village during the day you will find a boy named Nawaz who will not only tell you about the beetles, but will also give you four for free, although this only happens once. time.

From this town, head southeast until you reach Dar al-Shifa, which is occupied by enemies. There are two beetles here, but you’ll have to head underground to find them. The opening is towards the end of this camp and you will need a Geo-based character to get through a hole in the ground.

To see more beetles hiding underground, two on the map below appear as if they could be found along the road south from Aaru Village. However, you can find them by going underground through the Abdju Pit to the north and following the Golden Slumber World Quest.

Back on the surface, from the teleport point south of Abdju Pit and east of Sobek Oasis, drop down to the area below and you’ll find a beetle near a cactus. From there, instead of following the path, head southwest and you can pick up three beetles here, then use a four-leaf seal to get to the top of a rock where another beetle is waiting.

Head west from here and you’ll eventually reach another teleport point, while a Scarab also waits for you next to a cactus. From this waypoint, glide to Sobek Oasis and follow the sandy path to find three more beetles.

Then, head south of the desert next to the Dahri Valley, where the second Statue of the Seven is located. A beetle waits next to the statue. Get off the cliff and glide to the area below and you will find two Scarabs to collect together. But don’t dawdle, as there’s an ancient machine targeting you.

Return to the statue and then head west. Just when you go up a slope and almost see an ancient temple in front of you, you should also find a scarab along the way.

You can find a beetle sitting on top of a rock structure, which you can grab using a four-leaf seal, near the teleport point located in the southernmost part of the desert. North of the waypoint is an enemy camp, but if you avoid it, you’ll find a beetle on the right and two beetles on the left, one of them perched on a rock.

The west of this region is the Hypostyle Desert, and here we will start in the southern area, where there are two dunes, each of which is also home to temple ruins. You’ll find two scarabs near the Dune of Elusion teleport waypoint.

Head east from here to near the cliff and you will find a beetle between two red trees. Head north from there and, although there are fewer landmarks, you can find another beetle crawling near a dry bush.

Next, head further west to the Magma Dune, where you’ll find a scarab in some ruins just southwest of the main temple structure. But in the middle, there’s also a temple ruin you need to pass through that has a scarab to collect, and some four-leaf seals will help make this trip less of a hassle.

To the northwest of the Magma Dune are two more beetles: one on top of another ruined structure and the other a little further down. The area has some tough enemy machines roaming around, but also four-leaf seals to help you get around.

There are also markers to the north of both dunes indicating the location of the beetles, but they are underground, which brings us to the next part of the farming tour.

You’ll find a good number of scarabs in King Deshret’s mausoleum, although most of them are found underground. However, to reach these areas, you must first access the Mausoleum, which can be done by following the Golden Slumber world quest.

However, if you arrive at the mausoleum early, you can still find beetles on the surface. There are two to the northeast of the mausoleum and two more very close and directly north of the structure.

The following instructions assume that you have gained access to King Deshret’s Mausoleum and activated all teleport points:

From the teleport point furthest east (and actually closest to the Khemenu Temple), continue straight until you reach a room where you can turn left. Now follow the hallway until you reach a door on your right; If you have completed the necessary puzzles in the World Quest, this should be open and you will descend deeply. At the end, head south and along this path you will find four scarabs.

You can explore two levels from the underground teleport waypoint north of the mausoleum; There are two beetles in the upper area along the steps and one beetle in the lower area in front of a dog statue.

From the southwesternmost underground teleport waypoint of the mausoleum, glide southwest to find a scarab next to a torch and you’ll find another northeast where the scarab crawls near a Starshroom.

Then go down the stairs that lead from the underground teleportation point located in the southwest corner of the mausoleum to a large underground cavern. Here use the four leaf seals on the side to reach the higher ground in front of you and find three scarabs. If you go up from here, you will enter a chamber where another Scarab can be found at the end of the room.

Follow the path back and you will eventually reach another cavernous room. Drop down and you’ll find a Scarab in the southeast corner behind a rock pillar, while another Scarab is hiding beneath some ruins, accessible through a gap in the side.

From the teleport point northwest of the mausoleum, there is a hole you can fall into that acts as a shortcut to the underground of the mausoleum (note that the entrance must first be opened from the inside before it can be used). Follow this route until you can go down to the lowest level where you will find two more beetles.

Next, head to the northwest section of the map where you will find the Garden of Infinite Pillars domain. You’ll have to solve a puzzle to access it, but then you can collect four beetles nearby.

Head to the Carouses Dune; The entrance can be reached on the east side, so it makes sense to travel there from the nearby teleport point. Once inside, you will have to solve a puzzle that will allow you to cross a higher area where you can take a Scarab.

A scarab is a short distance south of the third Statue of the Seven, which is north of the Khemenu Temple, so go down and pick it up.

This brings us to the last desert area in the northeast. Starting from the teleport point just west of Khaj-Nisut, you’ll find two scarabs on a rocky surface to the southwest. Continue southwest and you’ll see a higher area that you can reach via a four-leaf seal, where you’ll find two more beetles.

Between Khaj-Nisut and Aaru Village there are two teleport points. Head northeast from the southwest waypoint, ignoring the gust of wind, and enter the ravine to find two beetles.

There is a Scarab right next to the northeast waypoint. Looking south, you have a slightly steep climb ahead, as well as a group of enemies waiting to attack, but also a beetle hanging from the tree.

Good luck hunting beetles!
