When does the MultiVersus beta go offline?

MultiVersus has had a pretty good beta run over the last year, but unfortunately it’s going offline soon.

As Player First Games recently revealed, the Warner Bros.-themed fighter will end its beta period, before MultiVersus fully launches next year.

Here’s when MultiVersus goes offline, how long it will be offline, and why it goes offline in the first place.

MultiVersus Beta End Date: When will MultiVersus go offline?

According to a recent post on the MultiVersus FAQ page, the game will be going offline on Sunday, June 25.

All online modes will be unavailable from this point on, with only the training room and local matches remaining active. You will still be able to access your characters and cosmetics during this time.

The exact times when MultiVersus will go offline have not yet been revealed. We will update this page as more information becomes available.

When will MultiVersus be back online?

We still don’t know the exact release date for the full release of MultiVersus. So far, the developer has said he’s aiming for a release window of “early 2024,” when a full version of MultiVersus will be released. We’ll probably hear more about what this updated version will be like as the release window gets closer.

For now, there’s no information on what it will offer, only that all your characters, cosmetics, and progress will carry over to the full version at launch. This includes unused Gleamium, Battle Pass tokens, character tickets, and any other in-game items.

Why is MultiVersus going offline?

In short, MultiVersus will be going offline at the end of June because its beta period is ending. The game hasn’t been fully released yet, so the developer intends to remove it so they can work on its proper release next year. This is explained in the FAQ section mentioned above:

“The MultiVersus open beta has been an important learning opportunity and a springboard into the next phase of the game. There is still a lot of work to be done and we have a clearer vision of where we should focus, specifically on the content cadence of new characters, maps and modes to provide more ways to enjoy the game, along with improvements to netcode and matchmaking.”

“We will also rework the progression system and look for new ways for players to connect with friends in the game. To do this the right way, we will close the MultiVersus Open Beta on June 25, 2023. As part of this “In the process, we will pause updates and take the game offline as we prepare for the launch of MultiVersus, which we are targeting in early 2024.”

Please note that refunds are not offered for those who paid for in-game items during the MultiVersus beta. After Tuesday, April 4, Gleamium will also be out of the game.

Be sure to download MultiVersus before Sunday, June 25 if you haven’t tried it yet, as you won’t be able to find it in stores after this date, not even to play in offline modes.
