Warzone Krampus: How to inflict damage to Krampus and kill Krampus in Warzone and Vanguard

Dealing 365 points of damage to Krampus and killing Krampus 3 times are one of the challenges to complete in both Warzone and Vanguard, respectively.

As part of the Christmas-themed Festive Fervor event, Krampus joins in to celebrate along with the task of killing 10 members of Elf Team Six who are hiding. The main difference here is that each game has a slight variation in terms of the objective, but the task remains the same.

Currently, as of Warzone Season 4, you can no longer complete this activity. If you’re looking for more help, check out our current page on the best Warzone weapons and the Vanguard Royale meta.

This guide explains how to deal 365 damage to Krampus in Warzone and also how to kill Krampus 3 times in Vanguard.

Explanation of how Krampus works in Warzone and Vanguard

Krampus is a type of random encounter that can appear in Warzone and Vanguard. The creature will chase its prey for a few minutes and occasionally disappear out of nowhere to teleport and throw snowballs.

If Krampus gets too close, you can expect a big melee hit that will likely incapacitate you.

Unfortunately, Krampus isn’t exactly an easy enemy to take on. It’ll take you quite a while to take down Krampus, and the constant chasing means you can’t just camp on site or spend a lot of time carefully planting mines or other equipment.

That said, you have until January 4, 2022 to complete any of the challenges, allowing plenty of room for trial and error. If you want to know more about how to activate and then survive the fight, you may find the following sections helpful.

How to deal 365 points of damage to Krampus in Warzone

Between Warzone and Vanguard, this is by far the easier challenge of the two. The task of only damaging Krampus instead of having to take him down multiple times is much less daunting on paper. Fortunately, this also translates into practice.

First things first: in order for Krampus to appear in Warzone, you need to collect charcoal from the festive fir trees. These are always close to points of interest, as you can see in the examples below:

The Festive Fir Trees icon is a green tree and they appear in random locations on each map (hence the two images).

The locations aren’t fixed, but opening the map while you’re on the plane to take a quick look before jumping will do the trick. Once you reach one of the trees, you’ll notice that it’s on level one (unless someone got there first). You just need to stay near the tree until the bar fills up to level three.

For each of these levels there will be gifts around the tree. In addition to some pretty useful loot, from weapons to killstreaks, there’s a chance to find coal.

Coal can also be detected in random drops that occur elsewhere on the map, but it’s always good to at least start on a tree or check to see if there is one nearby that is still at level one during your travels.

You’ll know when Krampus is targeting your squad thanks to an on-screen message indicating so. That said, hearing bells and roars from Krampus will signal the creature’s presence either way. This means that if Krampus targets a different squad, you can still go ahead and damage them from a distance to complete the challenge.

How to kill Krampus 3 times in Vanguard

At Vanguard, the task is a little more complicated. With smaller maps and lack of battle royale, the festive firs are not present. Instead, Krampus will appear to hunt down players who are acting “naughty.”

This basically translates to avoiding playing the objective (which will vary depending on the multiplayer mode you choose) and aiming for a lower score. The Krampus spawn rate in Vanguard can be even more random overall compared to Warzone, which can be frustrating.

Speaking of which, killing Krampus is much more difficult than simply dealing damage. Krampus is a pretty bullet-sponge type of enemy, so he’ll need a lot of firepower. We recommend that he chase killstreaks, such as Deathmachine (7 total kills) and Flamenaut (9 total kills).
