Stony Cliff Titan location, Klawf weaknesses in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Klawf, also known as the Stony Cliff Titan, is one of the five Titan Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Discovering and defeating Klawf is necessary as part of the Path of Legends story, and it is our recommended Titan starter Pokémon to face in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Regardless of the order you tackle them, you’ll want to know more about the Stony Cliff Titan’s location as well as Klawf’s weaknesses, especially if you’re approaching a low level.

In this page:

Stony Cliff Titan Recommended Level

It is recommended to have level 15-20 equipment before facing the Stony Cliff Titan. If you are under this, be sure to focus on the rocks’ weaknesses, explained later on this page, to take advantage.

Stony Cliff Titan Location

The Stony Cliff Titan is located in the middle of the highway that goes from Mesagoza to Artazon in the Southern Province (Area Three). You will receive a call from Arven the first time you walk this path.

You know you’re in the right place because there’s a giant crab on a cliff. It’s pretty hard to miss!

Encounter with Stony Cliff Titan

Get close enough and they will flee down the cliff on the right. Follow this path on the right to the top of the cliff to find it again.

Get closer, they will close some very big eyes and begin the battle.

This initial fight is just practice with no level requirement, as after Klawf is defeated, they will flee over the cliff. Chase them and they will eat a glowing herb and be completely cured.

Arven now appears and helps you fight with a level 16 Shellder in tow.

Once the battle is over (see below for weaknesses if you want to easily get the upper hand), you will enter the cave and discover a Herba Mystica. This will unlock a new exploration ability for Koraidon or Miraidon: the dash ability.

Our The Teal Mask walkthrough will help you complete the first part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, but make sure you know how to start it first. When visiting Kitakami it is a good idea to know how to get Sinistea, Dipplin and The Loyal Three. Our Pokémon Scarlet and Violet walkthrough can take you through the main campaign, including The First Day of School, Victory Road, Starfall Street, Path of Legends, and, when you’re ready, The Way Home and the final boss. Elsewhere, we can help with the normal gym test secret item menu, version differences, the best scarlet and violet starter, XP farming, shiny Pokémon, and learning to fly, swim, climb, and run. When it comes to individual Pokémon, we can help with Gimmighoul, Ditto, Bellibolt, Pawmot, Scovillain, Frigibax, Brambleghast, Annihilape, Farigiraf, Dudunsparce, Lycanrock, Armarouge, and Ceruledge.

Klawf’s Weaknesses

Klawf is a pure Rock-type, meaning you’ll want to counterattack with Grass, Water, Fighting, Ground, or Steel moves.

In our case, we quickly defeated Klawf with the super effective grass moves of the starter Sprigatito.

Once you’ve defeated this Pokémon Titan and obtained the Herba Mystica reward, our Pokémon Titan top order recommends that you take on the Open Sky Titan next.
