What are AQ soldiers in Warzone 2.0?
AQ soldiers are the troops of the terrorist organization Al Qatala. These are the main villains of Modern Warfare 2.
More importantly, they are the AI-controlled adversaries in Warzone 2.0. They are not exceptionally intelligent and relatively easy to kill, but they can be dangerous, especially in large groups. They are an enemy that many squads will eliminate in large numbers.
Where to find AQ soldiers in Warzone 2.0
Different Modern Warfare 2 modes will use AQ soldiers differently and place them in different locations.
In standard Warzone modes, AQ soldiers will be restricted to Strongholds and Black Sites. These are challenges where squads must eliminate AI-controlled enemies and complete objectives to earn rewards.
In DMZ, AQ soldiers will populate the entire map as a constant complement to you and your team. They mainly exist to defend objectives and harass your team when you request Exfil. As you eliminate them, more will appear, making them more of an endemic threat and less of a specific challenge to overcome.

Rewards for AQ soldiers in Warzone 2.0
There are many reasons why it is worth spending time killing AQ soldiers, beyond simply eliminating them as a threat to you and your squad.
First of all, they are a constant and reliable source of XP. When you Exfil at the end of a match, each AQ soldier you kill contributes to your level up.
If your squad eliminates all AQ soldiers in a Stronghold, you will unlock your custom loadouts for the game. Given the search and collect nature of Warzone, being able to go and collect one of these, say for your M4, can have a significant impact on battlefield effectiveness. The first team to clear a Stronghold also wins a Black Site key.
Elsewhere, if you reach the Black Site and eliminate all the AQ soldiers, you will earn a legendary item to use during that match and a weapon blueprint. This will permanently unlock a weapon for all game modes.
