Sea of Thieves unlock time: When can you start playing Sea of Thieves?
Sea of Thieves unlocks at midnight in your country. easternmost time zone, since Monday, March 19 becomes Tuesday, March 20. So if you’re in the United States, for example, that’s whatever time you are when midnight EDT hits! Here’s a quick list of unlock dates and times for various regions:

How to install Sea of Thieves on PC for both gamers and Game Pass owners
Fortunately this time it’s very simple! However, there are two ways to own Sea of Thieves: through an Xbox Game Pass subscription and by purchasing the game itself.
The main difference is that Game Pass owners can jump into the game and play early (we have access right now at the time of writing, before the game’s official unlock time), but the problem is that you can’t actually download the game. game unless you bought it and own it the old fashioned way.
Interestingly, in a bit of a strange overlap, we got an Xbox Game Pass subscription before getting the full game; By doing so, we were able to download it, as if we had pre-ordered it, but we gained access immediately, as we only had through Game Pass.
Either way, unless you’re lucky or perhaps willing to modify your location settings and settle down to live somewhere further “ahead” in time like New Zealand, you’ll probably have to wait until the official unlock times we list previously. With that in mind, here’s how to download and install it so you’ll be ready to play as soon as possible.
1. Go to the Microsoft Store (look in the taskbar if it’s hard to find).
2. In the top right search bar, search for “Sea of Thieves”; it may appear as a suggested term after you’re halfway through typing.
3. Click on that and you will be taken to the game page. Whether you played the beta versions before or not, you need to redownload the game from scratch, so from here, click on the little “…” symbol to the right of the game name.
Click “Redeem a Code” and enter the code you got for the digital pre-order when prompted, and it will start downloading! When you’re done, you can find it in the Xbox app on PC or simply by searching for it in the Windows search bar.

Here’s how to install everything for Sea of Thieves on Xbox One (luckily, it’s just as easy as it is on PC!). Note that since this is cross-play, you can also follow the same steps above to redeem your code in a browser version of the Microsoft Store and even set it to run on your Xbox from there.
1. Head to the home screen by pressing the Xbox button on your controller and head to Store from there.
2. From the Store tab, simply head to the little “Redeem a Code” icon at the bottom of that page and select it.
3. Enter your Sea of Thieves code, continue with the prompts and then wait for it to download, and you’ll be ready to go!

However, remember that if you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber but don’t own the full game, you probably won’t be able to preload it unless you’ve also pre-ordered the game.
