How to do tricks in Riders Republic

Tricks are the bread and butter to increase your score in Riders Republic. Some races specifically ask you to reach the high score simply by doing tricks, rather than the usual trips from point A to B.

There’s not much to say in terms of controls before you see the full list in the next section; That said, it’s important to note the difference between presets when it comes to controls.

To begin with, opting for the Racer controls will be very useful. But to do tricks in Riders Republic, you have to use the Trickster controls.

The key difference is just in the name: the former is better for normal racing, as it allows you to do tricks using the face buttons while manually controlling the camera using the right analog stick.

Trickster’s controls, on the other hand, allow you to use the right analog stick to do tricks directly. This allows for a lot more freedom, and once you get used to it, the shift is quite seamless.

Regardless of your choice, you can switch between them in the options menu at any time, so don’t be afraid to experiment.

Landing mode, the other main preset, also comes into play when doing tricks in Riders Republic. Going for the autoland option is better at first until you get the hang of things, but it’s worth noting that you’ll receive fewer points.

Manual landing is the way to go for more complex tricks, but of course this requires you to time your rotation to land correctly. Depending on how it goes, you will be rated between bad and perfect.

In short, opting for Trickster and Manual Landing modes will allow you to perform some of Riders Republic’s most complex tricks with more freedom and precision. But since you can switch between all of them at any time, feel free to do so in case it gets too complex or you just feel more comfortable with the other presets.

Once you’ve decided on your control presets, it’s time to see what tricks await you. Some of them are quite easy to perform, while others require more precision. Sometimes what adds difficulty is less about the button prompts and more about how to land on the ground or continue connecting the combo.
