How to get lightsabers in Fortnite
To get lightsabers in Fortnite, you need to talk to the holograms of Obi-Wan, Anakin, or Darth Maul and learn force skills from them. Once you do, a rift will open up. When you pass through the rift, a lightsaber will automatically appear in your inventory and you can recreate the double fate on any unfortunate opponent you encounter.
Actually finding one of the three Star Wars NPCs is the hard part, since if another player gets to them first, they disappear and appear in another area. You can check where Obi-Wan, Anakin, or Darth Maul appear by looking for Jedi or Sith icons on the map, like the one for Darth Maul below:
You can also find lightsabers by eliminating opponents who have one, but this involves a little more luck. You also won’t learn strength skills this way, which can put you at a huge disadvantage against an opponent who has learned them.
We haven’t found any lightsabers as floor loot or in chests, but this could change with future updates.

How to use lightsabers in Fortnite
There are two basic ways to use a lightsaber in Fortnite:
- Press the shoot button to attack.
- Press the aim button to block.
Attacking with a lightsaber works similarly to other melee weapons, but the blocking ability is very useful for stopping shots at medium and long ranges, particularly against the DC-15 Blaster.
Just be careful when blocking at close range, as weapons like a shotgun practically bypass a lightsaber’s blocking ability, meaning it’s not worth blocking at close range unless you’re in a saber duel. of light.
Plus, when you get a lightsaber from Obi-Wan, Anakin, or Darth Maul, you also get force abilities. With the lightsaber equipped, double-tap the jump button to perform a higher Force jump, press the jump button while blocking to evade, or press the fire button while blocking to use Force Throw, Pull, or Push, depending. of the skill you have learned.
You have to wait a bit between performing these strength skills. Our Force Throw took 15 seconds to recharge, but this can be different depending on the power you have.
Fortnite lightsaber list
Although they all control the exact same thing, there are three different lightsabers in Fortnite. The lightsaber you receive from Star Wars NPCs depends on which character you learn force skills from.
Here is the current list of Fortnite lightsabers and how to get them:
- Green Jedi Padawan Lightsaber (obtained from Obi-Wan)
- Blue Jedi Padawan Lightsaber (obtained from Anakin)
- Sith Apprentice red lightsaber (obtained from Darth Maul)
Each lightsaber takes up one inventory slot and basically acts as a stronger pickaxe melee weapon.
