- We recommend completing this research quest during the Halloween event, because it will make it easier to complete the quest related to the ghost guy as they will appear more frequently during the event.
- It’s a good idea to stock up on berries before completing the second stage of this quest, because you need quite a few to complete it.
- If you’re having trouble getting all the big throws in the third stage, try to focus on Pokémon that have large catch radii like Wailmer.
How ‘What’s Behind the Mask’ works in Pokémon Go
Research missions, specific tasks that reward players with a variety of items, were originally released in March 2018 and are divided into four different categories: branching, field, timed, and special.
What Lies Behind the Mask was released on Friday, October 15 as part of the 2021 Halloween celebrations, and since it’s a special research mission, it has no deadline. This means that once you have completed the mission, you can complete it whenever you want.
This quest is themed around the ghost type, Yamask, who was originally a human. Due to his transformation, Yamask actually retains the memories of his human life and the mask he holds resembles his face from that time. If someone were to wear this mask, it would grant Yamask the ability to possess their body.
What’s Behind the Mask is built from four mission steps, with each step containing three individual challenges. You will be rewarded for each challenge and general step you complete until the mission is finished!
