How to evolve Capsakid into Scovillain in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

You can turn Capsakid into Scovillain in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but it’s not as simple as reaching a level requirement.

You see, Capsakid is one of the special evolutions found in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, meaning it doesn’t evolve like most other Pokémon. You cannot simply level up and you will need to use a specific evolution stone to activate evolution.

Here’s where to find a Capsakid if you haven’t caught one yet, and then how to turn it into a Scovillain in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Where to find Capsakid in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Capsakid is found in the Asado Desert in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. You can check its habitat in the image below:

As you can see, you will find Capsakid in the western part of the map, near the desert in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Simply head there and run until you see a Capsakid wandering around the sandy plains. If you have unlocked swimming, you can use it to travel along rivers and reach the Asado Desert faster.

Our The Teal Mask walkthrough will help you complete the first part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, but make sure you know how to start it first. When visiting Kitakami it is a good idea to know how to get Sinistea, Dipplin and The Loyal Three. Our Pokémon Scarlet and Violet walkthrough can take you through the main campaign, including The First Day of School, Victory Road, Starfall Street, Path of Legends, and, when you’re ready, The Way Home and the final boss. Elsewhere, we can help with the normal gym test secret item menu, version differences, the best scarlet and violet starter, XP farming, shiny Pokémon, and learning to fly, swim, climb, and run. When it comes to individual Pokémon, we can help with Gimmighoul, Ditto, Bellibolt, Pawmot, Scovillain, Frigibax, Brambleghast, Annihilape, Farigiraf, Dudunsparce, Lycanrock, Armarouge, and Ceruledge.

How to evolve Capsakid into Scovillain

To evolve Capsakid into Scovillain in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet you only need to use a Fire Stone. These can be purchased at the Delibird Presents stores in Mesagoza, Levincia and Cascarrafa. Please note that for Fire Stones to be available, you will need to obtain three Gym Badges. After this, you will have an expanded selection of products to choose from.

Once you have a Fire Stone, simply head to your Bag and select it. Then you can use it in your Capsakid. It will evolve into a Scovillain, which has the Insomnia ability. This prevents Scovillain from being put to sleep.

You can also find fire stones while exploring. Places to check include Eastern Province (Area Three), near river banks. You can learn more about where to find fire stones in this guide. They can also appear as random drops indicated by glowing spots on the ground.

That’s everything you need to know about Capsakid’s evolution in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Consider adding Scovillain to your party when facing the Water Gym, as the move Sunny Day will decrease the damage of all Water-type attacks.
