Twinkling Fantasy Field Research Tasks in Pokémon Go

You can collect event-exclusive Field Research Tasks during the Twinkling Fantasy event by spinning PokéStops in Pokémon Go. These tasks can be saved to your Field Research Collection and completed after the event is over, if you wish.

However, if you complete the Field Research tasks during the Twinkling Fantasy event, the Pokémon encounter that rewards you may help you complete the Collection Challenge.

These are the Twinkling Fantasy field research tasks:

  • Reward for catching 5 Pokémon: encounter with Dedenne
  • Reward for catching 30 Pokémon: encounter with Goomy
  • Reward for catching 5 Fairy-type Pokémon: encounter with Bagon
  • Make 3 good reward throws – Dratini Encounter
  • Make 3 Big Drop Rewards: Clefairy Encounter

Thanks to SilphScience from reddit for the help with this information!

There are two things to keep in mind here, as they may influence which tasks you prioritize:

  1. Goomy is the only one of these who can’t be shiny.
  2. Dedenne’s shiny form will be released as part of this event, meaning this is your first chance to get your hands on one.

Some rare and powerful Pokémon are on offer during this event, including Dragon-types Goomy and Bagon.

Featured attacks during the Twinkling Fantasy event in Pokémon Go

Zekrom.

According to lore, there will be a specific Pokémon in the five-star raid that knows an exclusive move. In this case, we are looking at Zekrom.

Catch a Reshiram before January 18, 2023 at 10 am (local time) and it will learn its signature fire-type charged attack, Fusion Bolt. This completes the set, as Kyurem and Reshiram received their exclusive moves Glaciate and Fusion Flare in the previous two events!

Fusion Bolt has the following power in Pokémon Go:

  • Trainer Battles – 90 Power
  • Gyms and raids – 140 power

Like Reshiram before, which gained an attack with the same values, this is a nice buff for Zekrom. It’s a small improvement over Wild Charge as it doesn’t come with the self-debuff, which is great to hear. Unfortunately, it’s not enough of a blow to overtake the current meta champion in the Electric type: Xurkitree.

The problem is that Zekrom’s current fast move (Charge Beam) is pretty horrible; However, assuming he eventually adds Thunder Fang to his move pool, he could surpass this Ultra Beast as the best of the best. This means you should probably try to catch some if you think Zekrom might one day have a place on your team!

For now, your optimal moveset looks like this: Dragon Breath (Fast), Fusion Bolt (Exclusive Charged), and Crunch (Charged).

The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! Its first event is A Paldean Adventure, which sees the true launch of Gen 9 and the special research mission A Paldean Adventure. You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball mission and compete in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

Pokémon debuts

Two Pokémon will make their Pokémon Go debut during this event: the shiny Dedenne and Mega Salamence!

As you can see below, the glossy Dedenne takes on a darker brown, mouse-like appearance. It’s a decent gloss and we’re big fans. Thanks to Reddit user yxalitis for the confirmation below.

Additionally, Mega Salamence can be acquired in the usual way; Defeat enough of them in raids to get enough Mega Energy to Mega Evolve it. If you need a primer on how to take down this pseudo-legendary Mega Pokémon, we’ve got you covered, much like Mega Salamence’s back with that biologically dubious wing. Check out our Mega Salamence raid guide if you need help choosing the strongest counters.

  • Double Catch XP: Catch a Pokémon with a nice, excellent, or excellent throw to gain double the usual experience.
