New Pokémon Snap – Ho-Oh’s location, A Slice of the Rainbow request and how to take a four star Ho-Oh photo explained

Ho-Oh is one of the legendary Pokémon that you can photograph in New Pokémon Snap.

However, if you want this image, you first need to know Ho-Oh’s location, which will, in turn, help you complete the A Slice of the Rainbow LenTalk request.

The real challenge, however, is taking a four-star photo of Ho-Oh for your Photodex.

Ho-Oh’s Location and LenTalk Request from A Slice of the Rainbow in New Pokémon Snap Explained

If you want to photograph Ho-Oh in New Pokémon Snap, you must first finish the game’s story. Ho-Oh will then appear in three random locations throughout the Volcano in all of her research levels.

The first place is just to the right of the starting point of the route, between a gap in the mountain.

For the second location, you need to wait until you’ve gone down the slope near the start of the trail to where you’ll see Tyrantrum for the first time.

Once you’re in this area, immediately look behind you to see if Ho-Oh is flying through the sky.

The third location is on the right side of this same area: find the Crystabloom between stone gaps and you may see Ho-Oh pass by.

Ho-Oh will fly around this area pretty fast.

Remember: Ho-Oh’s location is chosen randomly, so be sure to mark all three locations if you want to take a photo of him.

The best thing, however, is that taking a photo of Ho-Oh at one of these locations will allow you to complete the A Slice of the Rainbow LenTalk request!

How to Take a Four-Star Ho-Oh Photo in New Pokémon Snap Explained

If you want to take a four-star photo of Ho-Oh in New Pokémon Snap, you must complete a series of steps.

New Pokémon Snap: How to Take a Photo of Four Ho-Oh Stars

The first is to take a photo of Ho-Oh at one of the three locations listed above. Remember: the exact location where Ho-Oh appears is decided at random, so you’ll have to check each location.

After taking this photo, take the alternate route inside the mountain that will take you through the blue magma room. During this journey, you will need to find three Ho-Oh Feathers and hit them with Illumina Orbs.

The first plume is found in the lava in front of the crater, before the blue magma cavern. If you’re having trouble finding him, be sure to look to your left after passing over the sleeping Shinx.

Once you’ve found the feather, start throwing Illumina Orbs until it starts to glow.

For the second feather, you need to keep an eye on your right side as you enter the blue magma cave and upon entering this area, you will see a Torkoal fast asleep.

However, you can’t let this peaceful slumber continue, so hit the Torkoal with an Illumina Orb to wake it up.

Sorry Torkoal.

Once Torkoal gets up and starts moving, you’ll notice that he was on top of Ho-Oh’s second feather, which you’ll then need to quickly hit with an Illumina Orb.

The third and final plume is the easiest to find, because it is simply on the rocks in the middle of the blue magma area; just look under the first magma waterfall and you’ll find it easily.

After hitting Ho-Oh’s three feathers, you’ll enter the final cavern, where Ho-Oh will fly out of the sky.

For a four-star photo, be sure to take a photo of Ho-Oh roaring at you. If you have already taken this photo, you can also take advantage of this opportunity to take two- and three-star photos of this legendary bird.
