New Pokémon Snap - Glowing Crystabloom locations in the Lental Seafloor and Ruins courses explained

For both the Lental Seafloor and Ruins courses in New Pokémon Snap, Professor Mirror will ask you to find a shiny Crystabloom, but you’ll soon discover that there aren’t any!

Instead, you’ll need to hunt down a Pokémon that is experiencing the Illumina phenomenon in both courses to advance the story.

The Illumina Pokémon on the Marcopia Islands will have a pink glow on their bodies, while the Pokémon on Aurus Island will have a golden glow.

How to Find the Shiny Crystabloom on the Lental Seabed in New Pokémon Snap

Unlike previous New Pokémon Snap courses, Illumina Orbs for the Marciopia Islands are unlocked by taking a photo of a Pokémon experiencing the Illumina phenomenon instead of a Crystabloom.

The Pokémon in question is Frillish and it can be quite difficult to find.

However, once you’ve taken a photo of it, you’ll unlock Pink Illumina Orbs, which can be used in every course, at any research level, on the Maricopia Islands. This includes the beach, the reef, the submarine and any weather variations they may have.

Where to find Frillish in the New Pokémon Snap underwater course

Frillish that experience the Illumina phenomenon in New Pokémon Snap can be found in the Lental seabed underwater course at both Research Level 1 and Research Level 2.

New Pokémon Snap: Where to Find an Illumina Frillish in the Underwater Course

To find this Frillish you must travel through the underwater course until you reach the top of the first underwater cavern; You’ll know you’re coming to the right place, because you’ll be able to see Wailmer bullying another Pokémon.

As you descend into this cavern, focus on the right side of the wall and you can see an opening onto a small ledge.

The Frillish you’re looking for is hiding just out of sight on this ledge, but since the Neo-One won’t travel directly over this ledge, you’ll have to discover it using Fluffruit.

Start throwing Fluffruit right away, because you’ll have less time than you think. We recommend having your camera with zoom to ensure you can take the best photo of Frillish as quickly as possible. You’ll know it’s the right Frillish, because he will have a pink glow on his body.

Once you have obtained the photo, finish the course or return directly to the Research Camp, where Professor Mirror will use it to create the Pink Illumina Orbs.

How to Find the Shiny Crystabloom in the Ruins in New Pokémon Snap

Like Lental Seafloor, Illumina Orbs for the Ruins of Remembrance are unlocked by taking a photo of a Pokémon experiencing the Illumina phenomenon instead of a Crystabloom.

This Pokémon is Woobat and compared to Illumina Frillish, it is quite easy to find.

Once you’ve taken a photo of this special Woobat, you’ll unlock Gold Illumina Orbs, which can be used in the Ruins and the Ruins of Remembrance Illumina Spot.

Where to find Woobat in the New Pokémon Snap Ruins course

The Woobat that exhibits the Illumina phenomenon in New Pokémon can be found in the Ruins of Remembrance Ruins course in both Research Level 1 and Research Level 2.

New Pokémon Snap: Where to Find Woobat to Unlock Gold Illumina Orbs

To find the Woobat, you must first travel through the initial section of this course, down the hole and into the first cave area.

Traveling through this small cave, you will find a pit to the left of the entrance to the rest of the cavern.

The well can be found to the left of the entrance.

All you need to do is throw a Fluffruit into this pit and the Woobat will fly out.

Fluffruit in, Woobat out.

Depending on where the Neo-One is currently located, the Woobat will either fly through the door or circle around for a moment, before flying behind its capsule.

Either way, you should quickly take several photos of Woobat while it is in view.

Once you’ve taken a photo, you can complete the course or return directly to the Research Camp, where Professor Mirror will give you the Golden Illuminating Orbs. That’s if your Woobat image is good enough, of course.
