Modern Warfare and Warzone COD Points are an in-game currency used to purchase the Battle Pass or items in the Store.
Although they are a premium currency and the main method of unlocking them is by purchasing them with cash, there is a method to obtain free COD Points through the game.

How to get COD points in Modern Warfare and Warzone
There are two main methods to get COD Points in Modern Warfare and Warzone:
- Buy in the Store with real-world money
- Level up the Battle Pass (some available for free)
Spending real money is the main and most realistic way to get COD points. Although you can earn COD Points for free (see how to do it below), if you want to get the Battle Pass, there is no way to get it without spending real money first.
It’s worth knowing that the Battle Pass, which costs 1000 COD Points, will give you 1300 COD Points in return if you level it up to level 98, funding the next Battle Pass and then some when it becomes available.
This means, in theory, that you only have to pay for a Battle Pass with real money once, as long as you put in the hours and save those COD points until the next season, you can earn the next one by playing.
How to get free COD points in Warzone
The Season 2 Battle Pass for Warzone offers 1,300 COD Points, spread across multiple tiers as rewards, and 300 of these COD Points are attached to “Free” tiers.
COD Points reward levels are as follows:
- 100 COD points – Level 6 (Free)
- 100 COD points – Level 12 (Premium)
- 100 COD points – Level 17 (Premium)
- 100 COD points – Level 23 (Premium)
- 100 COD points – Level 32 (Premium)
- 100 COD points – Level 41 (Premium)
- 100 COD points – Level 48 (Free)
- 100 COD points – Level 56 (Premium)
- 100 COD points – Level 66 (Premium)
- 100 COD points – Level 74 (Premium)
- 100 COD points – Level 82 (Premium)
- 100 COD points – Level 91 (Premium)
- 100 COD points – Level 98 (Free)
Unlocking all the free COD Points isn’t easy, especially considering the last one is at level 98, which means that if you plan on playing Warzone long-term, then the Battle Pass is a worthwhile investment.
As mentioned above, purchasing the Battle Pass offers you the opportunity to get back the COD Points you spent.
Considering that the Season 2 Battle Pass costs 1000 COD Points, we can assume that the Season 2 Battle Pass will also cost the same amount. This means that if you reach level 74, you will have earned enough COD Points to purchase next season’s Battle Pass.
How to get free COD points in Modern Warfare
Each Battle Pass will offer a selection of items for free without having to purchase them. This includes the Season 1 Battle Pass, which includes 300 of the 1,300 COD Points rewarded for leveling up.

It’s not easy to get free COD points, especially since you have to reach level 98 to get the 300, although you can earn 100 by reaching level 6, which should be easily manageable.
As mentioned above, if you intend to play the Battle Pass to completion, it’s worth paying for as you recoup your investment in COD Points at the end, which will be enough to purchase the next one when it becomes available.

What are COD Points used for in Modern Warfare and Warzone?
In Modern Warfare, to purchase COD Points, you must visit the Store, which is located at the bottom of the Multiplayer menu. COD points are used for the following:
