There’s a shiny Minun in Pokémon Go, but there are other reasons to participate in this week’s Spotlight.
During this event, you will be able to catch as many Minun as possible, which can lead you to finding a 100% perfect IV Minun or a shiny Minun.
Elsewhere in the Pokémon Go world, the Power Plant event is currently taking place during Heritage Season, which has seen the new arrival of Helioptile and Heliolisk. You can also participate in the January XP Challenge if you purchased a Go Tour: Johto ticket.

Minun’s 100% perfect IV in Pokémon Go
This week’s Featured Hour is the perfect opportunity to catch a Minun with perfect IV stats.
Unfortunately, Minun isn’t a particularly useful Pokémon competitively, so consider having good stats just a good thing.
The CP values that correspond to perfect values of 15/15/15 are as follows:
- Level 30 (Max Wild CP) – 1452 CP
- Level 35 (maximum CP boosted by weather) – 1573 CP
The wild CP value aligns with your trainer level until you reach level 30, and since the majority of the player base is now above level 30, we’ve kept the previous values to keep things simple. However, these values will be different if you are currently below level 30.
Is there a shiny Minun in Pokémon Go?
There is a shiny Minun in Pokémon Go.
Minun’s brilliant form was released as part of the Chicago leg of the 2018 Summer Tour, alongside Plusle and Zapdos.
It’s important to remember that only the Minun spawn rate during Watch Hour will be increased, not the shiny encounter rate. This means you’re working with Minun’s usual brilliant fare, so even if you spend the entire hour searching, there’s still a chance you won’t be able to find one.
The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! The Out to Play event is currently taking place. You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball mission and compete in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

Other reasons to catch as many Minun as possible
It may be a quiet week in Pokémon Go, but along with the chance to find a shiny Minun, there are still several reasons to participate in this week’s Spotlight:
- During Spotlight Hour, each Pokémon you transfer will give you double the amount of Candy. It is recommended to “save” any of the rarer creatures from recent events, such as Community Day, to transfer them during this hour and get more out of them.
- By catching a bunch of Minun, you will add progress to your Electric-type capture medal.
We remind you that Spotlight Hour lasts from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm (local time). As of this writing, the next Spotlight Hour creature or bonus has yet to be confirmed.
