How to get Seraph Key Codes and Resonate Stems in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 Seraph Keycodes and Resonance Stalks are currencies introduced in Season of the Seraph.

These are used to help progress in More Than a Weapon, earn additional rewards at the end of Heist Battlegrounds, and unlock override frequencies.

Extra loot is a powerful motivator and these coins can contribute to the seasonal quest, so finding them will be a high priority for many Guardians.

How to get Seraph key codes in Destiny 2

Seraph Keycodes are awarded at the end of most activities. The exact total varies, but after much experimentation, we found that, on average, you can expect quests to award approximately these amounts:

  • Patrol (5 rewarded)
  • Lost Sector (30 rewarded)
  • Public event (220 rewarded)
  • Heroic Public Event (240 rewarded)
  • Crucible (285 rewarded)
  • Gambit (285 rewarded))
  • Strike (285 rewarded)

Additionally, there are unlockable perks in Exo Frame that can help you earn Seraph key codes. The first one is called Seraph Key Code Bounties. Once unlocked, Exo Frame rewards will reward Seraph Keycodes.

After that is the Seraph Keycode Combatants perk. With this activated, defeating enemies has a chance to reward Seraph Key codes.

Finally, the paid season pass has Seraph Key Code Boost I and II, unlocked at levels 12 and 32 respectively. Each of these increases the number of Seraph Key Codes obtained by completing activities.

How to collect Resounding Stalks in Destiny 2

Resonance Stems are obtained from playlist activities and from opening Seraph Chests. They are stored in your inventory in an item called a resonance amplifier and can be combined in groups of 4 to create a nulling frequency.

Playlist activities award 3 resounding stems after a successful competition. That means jumping into the Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit playlists. The most efficient option will probably change week to week. Sometimes a short hit may be the best option, other times (such as when Mayhem is active) the Crucible may offer the path of least resistance.

You get 2 Resonate Steams for opening Seraph chests at the end of Heist Battlegrounds. This is a good option, but it comes with an important caveat. You need to have 500 Seraph Keycodes to be able to open the chest. If you don’t have them, there’s no point (from Resonate Stem’s point of view) in doing Heist Battlegrounds.

What do you do with Resounding Stalks in Destiny 2?

Resonant Stalks have one job in Destiny 2’s Season of the Seraphim: forming Nullification Frequencies.

Whenever you collect at least 4 Resonate Stems, you can combine them into your Resonance Amplifier to form an Override Frequency. This loads a description into the amplifier, with a hint of a location. Travel to that location and you’ll find a floating Rasputin node playing music, ready to be opened, consuming the override frequency in the process.

For each of these Rasputin Nodes you unlock, you’ll earn a Seraph Season weapon for your troubles and a chance to drop with Deepsight Resonance.

Tips for Farming Seraph Keycodes

Farming Seraph Keycodes is all about efficiency; Your goal should be to collect as many codes as possible, as quickly as possible. Unlocking the Seraph Code boost perks on Exo Frame as soon as possible is a good starting goal.

Searching for public events in EDZ remains a tried and true method of farming coins. Examine the EDZ map and locate any events that are about to begin. Go to the nearest point, complete the activity, and then find the next public event. If you’re alone and completing things quickly, you can even try fast traveling to your current location and loading into another instance of the same event.

For a change of pace, the Widow’s Walk Lost Sector in Trostland of the EPZ is extremely fast and can often be finished in under a minute. The 30 Seraph Keycodes can add up quickly if you target the Lost Sector boss, open the chest, and run back to the entrance. As soon as the next one for Trostland is loaded, you can repeat.
