Epona, the Noblest Steed, can be obtained in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but you need to meet some requirements outside of the game to get it.
Epona made her first appearance in Ocarina of Time and lived at Lon Lon Ranch before becoming Link’s horse. A version of Epona then reappeared in Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild through the use of an Amiibo.
She returns once more in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and has an excellent set of horse stats, making her a valuable traveling companion.

How to get Epona in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
There are two ways to get Epona in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, neither of which require horse taming. The first is by scanning the Amiibo figure of Link (Twilight Princess) or Link (Super Smash Bros.).

The second is to have a Breath of the Wild save file where you have registered Epona in the stables on your Nintendo Switch. If this is the case, then when you visit a stable for the first time, you will find that all the horses you registered in that save have been transferred to Tears of the Kingdom, including Epona.
You don’t even have to pay the registration fee and can simply start exploring the plains of Hyrule with Epona by your side.
Epona’s statistics in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Every horse in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has a set of stats and Epona is no different. Fortunately, she has a good set of stats that make Epona a very reliable steed.
Epona’s stats are:
- Strength – 4 stars
- Speed - 4 stars
- Stamina – 4 stars
- Throw – None
- Temperament – Gentle
- Bonus – Max.
As you can see, Epona will already be completely bonded to you, which means she will obey everything you want her to do.
It is important to note that Epona’s course cannot be changed nor can her towing harness be attached.
