How to get Charcadet and evolutions Armarouge and Ceruledge in Pokémon Go

Charcadet, along with its evolutions Armarouge and Ceruledge, debuted in Pokémon Go during the World of Wonders season.

Released during the Pokémon Horizons: The Series celebration event (what a mouthful…) in Pokémon Go during March 2024, these three Pokémon are part of Gen 9 and come from the Paldea region. Evolving from Charcadet to Armarouge or Ceruledge also involves meeting a special requirement, which differs depending on which evolution you want.

Below, you’ll learn how to get Charcadet in Pokémon Go, along with a look at the shiny Charcadet, Armarouge, and Ceruledge.

How to get Charcadet in Pokémon Go

Charcadet made its first appearance during the Pokémon Horizons: The Series celebration event, which will take place during March 2024, in Pokémon Go.

Here’s how you can get Charcadet during Pokémon Horizons: the series’ celebration event:

  • Hatching of 2km, 5km and 10km eggs collected by Monday, March 11 at 8 pm (local time)

It’s important to note that other Pokémon can still be hatched from 2km, 5km, and 10km eggs. This means that even if you hatch an egg collected during the Pokémon Horizons event, it may not give you a Charcadet. Instead, you’ll have to keep collecting eggs, walking the specific distance, and hoping for the best.

For this reason, we recommend focusing on hatching 2km eggs collected during the Pokémon Horizons event, as they have the shortest walking distance. Hopefully, this will increase your chances of getting a Charcadet because you will be able to hatch a larger number of eggs. This method, of course, depends on you receiving 2km eggs from PokéStops.

If you have them, or have money to spare, now is the time to use additional incubators. Remember, super incubators reduce the hatching distance of an egg, but they also cost more than regular incubators. All additional incubators only last three turns.

At 8:00 p.m. (local time) on Monday, March 11, Charcadet will enter the 10 km egg pool. This time also marks the end of the Pokémon Horizons event, meaning you will no longer be able to find Charcadet hatching 2km and 5km eggs.

At the time of writing, we don’t know what level of 10km eggs Charcadet will be placed in after the event. Because of this, we recommend trying to hatch at least two Charcadets during the Pokémon Horizons event as being in multiple egg groups could give you a higher chance of hatching one. We say two because Charcadet has two evolutions: Armarouge and Ceruledge. Hopefully it’s not as hard to find as Larvesta…

How to evolve Charcadet into Armarouge in Pokémon Go

To evolve Charcadet into Armarouge in Pokémon Go, you need 50 Charcadet Candies and defeat 30 Psychic-type Pokémon while Charcadet is your friendly Pokémon. You don’t have to defeat these Pokémon using Charcadet, it just needs to be your friend.

These 30 Psychic-type Pokémon can be defeated in battles against friends, raids, in the Go Battle League, Team Go Rocket battles, or battling Blanche in the Master League version of her Team Mystic Leader battle.

If you plan on getting these 30 wins through raids, you’ll have to wait until a Psychic-type Pokémon is included in the raid pool. Meanwhile, when it comes to using Go Battle League, you will be subject to luck as you will never know which Pokémon will be included in your enemy’s team. Although you can always wait until there is a special Psychic-type cup.

In addition to repeatable battles with Blanche and her Psychic/Steel-type Metagross, we recommend fighting Team Go Rocket Grunts who use Psychic-type Pokémon. If you follow this method and completely defeat the Grunt each time, you will need to defeat 10 Team Go Rocket Grunts to turn Charcadet into Armarouge.

However, keep in mind that you will need to find a Grunt with the psychic-type catchphrase, which is: “Are you afraid of psychic powers that use invisible powers?” Grunts who use this slogan before fighting them will always have a team composed of Psychic-type Pokémon. It’s also worth checking the current lineup of Giovanni and the Team Rocket leaders to see if they have any psychic equipment on their teams. Keep in mind that their teams rotate regularly, both in terms of the Pokémon on offer and those you’ll find yourself battling in fight after fight.

Remember: you don’t have to defeat these Pokémon with the Charcadet you chose. It just has to be your friend. You can keep track of how many Psychic types you’ve defeated by visiting the Charcadet page in your Pokémon storage.

How to evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge in Pokémon Go

To turn Charcadet into Ceruledge in Pokémon Go, you will need 50 Charcadet Candies and defeat 30 Ghost-type Pokémon while Charcadet is your friendly Pokémon. Charcadet doesn’t need to defeat these Pokémon, it just needs to be your friend.

Ceruledge Pokédex entry from Pokémon Violet.

These 30 Ghost-type Pokémon can be defeated in Go Battle League, Team Rocket battles, raids, and battles you participate in with friends.

We recommend getting these 30 wins by defeating Team Go Rocket Grunts that use Ghost-type Pokémon. These Grunts can be found at invaded PokéStops and on Rocket Balloons, using the motto ‘Ke…ke…ke…ke…ke…ke!’ Finding these specific Grunts may take some time, but if you use this method, you should only have to defeat 10 Team Rocket Grunts to get your Ceruledge.

You can also defeat Giovanni and the leaders of Team Go Rocket, but keep in mind that there is an element of randomness in the Pokémon you will have to face and their teams change regularly, so there is no guarantee that you will face a Ghost. -Pokémon type. The same goes for using Go Battle League, as you will never know which Pokémon your opponents have chosen. While participating in a special Ghost-themed mug would make things easier, you just have to wait for one to arrive.

When it comes to raids, you’ll have to wait for a Ghost-type to be included in the raid pool to get those 30 wins.

Don’t forget that you don’t have to defeat 30 Ghost-type Pokémon with the Charcadet you choose. He just has to be your friend and you can keep track of how many Ghost-types you’ve defeated by visiting the Charcadet page in your Pokémon storage.

The World of Wonders season has arrived in Pokémon Go, giving you the chance to catch Poipole. The Pokémon Horizons event is currently underway and marks the debut of Charcadet. Don’t forget to try Routes, Gift Exchange, and Party Play while you hunt for rare Pokémon, battle in Go Battle League, or compete in PokéStop Showcases.

What do shiny Charcadet, Armarouge, and Ceruledge look like in Pokémon Go?

I’ve seen some bad shiny designs in my time, but the brilliant Charcadet, Armarouge and Ceruledge really took home the trophy and they’re not even green. In fact, I wouldn’t blame you for not realizing these glows were in your collection, because the only element of his design that’s really different is the flames his eyes emit.

Charcadet and Armarouge brights have blue flames instead of orange, while Ceruledge brights have orange flames instead of blue. How exciting… (Seriously, Armarouge and Ceruledge have such cool designs. Why are their glowing forms so painfully weak?)

If you want a proper look at the brilliant Charcadet, Armarogue and Ceruledge, skip to 12 seconds into the video created by JaequazaTube from YouTube below. Although I recommend watching it in its entirety, it’s not very long and pretty much sums up my feelings towards these brilliant forms.
