How to evolve Piloswine into Mamoswine in The Teal Mask for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

How to evolve Piloswine into Mamoswine in The Teal Mask for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Evolving from Piloswine to Mamoswine gives you the opportunity to add a powerful Ice and Ground type to your team in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC.

However, you must first make sure Piloswine knows a particular move before leveling up. If you don’t know this move, then all you’ll have in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is a slightly stronger Piloswine.

Below we’ll show you how to evolve Piloswine into Mamoswine in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, along with the locations of Swinub and Piloswine so you can fully complete this evolution line in your Pokédex Kitakami.

Location of Swinub and Piloswine in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask

Piloswines can be found in the cave networks of Oni Mountain in the Kitakami region of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC.

However, if you want to fully complete the Swinub evolution line in your Kitakami Pokédex, you’ll first want to catch, unsurprisingly, a Swinub.

Swinubs can be found in Mossfell Confluence, Reveler’s Road, and in the cave networks of Oni Mountain.

You should have no problem finding a Swinub or Piloswine in the wild. However, if you want to go straight to Piloswine, it is worth taking a look at the upper floors of the cave network leading to Fezandipiti.

How to evolve Piloswine into Mamoswine in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask

To evolve Piloswine, you must first have Ancient Power in your current moveset before leveling up. As long as Piloswine knows this move, she will automatically evolve into Mamoswine the next time she levels up.

We highly recommend checking Piloswine’s moveset before attempting to evolve it, because whether you’ve developed a Swinub or caught one in the wild, there’s a good chance Piloswine doesn’t have ancient power in its moveset.

If this is the case, open the Piloswine Pokémon Status Summary and go to the “Moves and Stats” page before selecting “Change Moves.” Then choose “Remember Moves” and scroll down until you find Ancient Power. Now all you need to do is choose which move you want to replace!

All you have to do now is level up Piloswine, either by using a rare candy or other experience. A candy or grinding Exp to turn it into Mamoswine.

Good luck adding Mamoswine to your Pokédex!
