Your appearance in Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the first things you establish in the game, along with your life path and main attributes.
The game begins with a character creator, which allows you to set V’s skin tone, hairstyle, eye color, scars, and more.
However, if, like us, you’re paralyzed with no options, it may be worth knowing how important your appearance is in Cyberpunk 2077, especially as it’s a first-person game, and the good news is that, after a later update At launch, it is possible to change your appearance later in the game.

Will you be able to change your appearance later in Cyberpunk 2077?
The answer is yes: you can change your appearance in Cyberpunk 2077 after the initial character creator screen thanks to a post-launch update.
This was not the case at launch. Despite a series of Ripperdocs to visit and ways to install new implants, when it came to V’s outward appearance, that was off limits.
How to change your appearance in Cyberpunk 2077
First, make sure you have downloaded update 1.5, released in February 2022.
From there, to change your appearance in Cyberpunk 2077, visit your apartment and inspect the bathroom mirror.
If Johnny appears in the mirror, inspect the mirror again until V appears. By the way, Johnny’s appearance is not a mistake: it’s intentional!
Once you investigate the mirror correctly, you will be able to edit your character’s appearance.
Don’t worry, the outfit comes off when you enter character edit mode.
Note that if you resume a save after the 1.5 update, know that there are a number of new character customization options, including new eye and lip makeup selections to choose from.

Where can you see your appearance in Cyberpunk 2077?
Since Cyberpunk 2077 is a first-person game, you won’t see your version of V too often. The main points that V will see include:
- On your inventory screen
- When looking at a mirror; This is an option in your apartment and other locations, as well as in key scenes like the specific end-of-life prologue.
- Driving vehicles when viewed in third person
- In photo mode
It’s the inventory screen that you’ll see V most often; Although that being said, they’re probably dressed in all sorts of random gear, including hats and gas masks, if you’re like us and prioritize stats over anything else, this is an RPG after all.
