Brilliant Event: Return to Hogwarts is the third limited-time event to launch in Harry Potter Wizards Unite.
This back-to-school themed event will feature Findables inspired by Platform 9 ¾ and the Hogwarts gates. You will be able to add these new Foundbales to a special event page in your Registry.
There are also new special tasks you can complete and new rewards to earn, including cosmetic items and restricted section books, which are vital for leveling up your chosen profession.

Return to Hogwarts start time and how Brilliant Events work in Harry Potter Wizards Unite
Brilliant Event: Return to Hogwarts is the latest limited event for Harry Potter Wizards Unite. Like the previous Brilliant Event, Potter’s Calamity will be split into two different weeks, with a one-week break in the middle of the Brilliant Event.
The first week of Brilliant Event: Back to Hogwarts will run from August 13 to 20, with a start time of:
- UK: 7pm (BST)
- Europe: 8:00 p.m. (CEST)
- US East Coast: 2 pm (EDT)
- US West Coast: 11am (PDT)
Once August 20 has passed, you will no longer be able to participate in the first part of this Brilliant Event or claim any of its rewards.
The second week of Brilliant Event: Back to Hogwarts will run from August 27 to September 3, with a start time of:
- UK: 7pm (BST)
- Europe: 8:00 p.m. (CEST)
- US East Coast: 2 pm (EDT)
- US West Coast: 11am (PDT)
When September 3rd passes, the Brilliant Event will end and you will no longer be able to claim any of its rewards.
Throughout the event, there will be new Shiny Findables to discover and a variety of activities to complete, including unlocking Portmanteaus Portkeys and completing Special Assignments.
Unlike Daily Missions and SOS, these Special Missions only appear during a Shiny Event.
Brilliant event: explanation of the steps of the quest back to Hogwarts
There are eight sets of special assignments in total for Brilliant Event: Back to Hogwarts. Each week of the event has its own set of four Special Assignments and each Special Assignment consists of three different tasks.
You will receive one reward for completing each individual task and three for completing each set of special tasks. Remember, you must collect these rewards before the Brilliant Event ends: August 20 for Week One and September 3 for Week Two.
You will also not be able to collect Week One rewards in Week Two, and if you leave any rewards unclaimed, they will be lost forever.
First week: August 13 to 20

Throughout Brilliant Event: Back to Hogwarts you will be able to find Brilliant Foundables to add to a special page for the event in your Registry.
You can find this page by opening your Log and selecting “Events,” which is located in the bottom right corner of the tab.
Each part of Brilliant Event: Back to Hogwarts will have its own Registration page and six Brilliant Foundables for you to collect.

What are glowing footprints in Harry Potter Wizards Unite?
Bright trails only appear during a bright event. As with normal trails, selecting one will take you to a Foundable that needs to be freed from a Confoundable.
Brilliant Traces are purple, with a ray of purple light running through them, and have an exclamation point in the center.
You can only find Shining Traces during a Shining Event and they only contain Foundables that belong to that specific event.
How to Find and Use Shining Runestones in Harry Potter Wizards Unite
As you collect Shiny Findables and complete Special Assignments, your Shiny Event: Return to Hogwarts Family Ranking will increase in your Record. When you level up in this ranking, you will receive glowing rune stones, which you can use in magical challenges.
To compete in a Magic Challenge, head to one of the many Strongholds scattered around the map. If you successfully complete the challenge while wearing a shiny runestone, you may be rewarded with a shiny recoverable shard.

What to do with restricted section books in Harry Potter Wizards Unite
Restricted section books are books that can only be obtained during Brilliant Events. Like red scrolls and spellbooks, they are used to level up your chosen profession and unlock new strategic spells.
You will only receive a certain number of books from the shiny event restricted section, so choose wisely.
Before you begin your magical adventure, you’ll want to join a Hogwarts House in Harry Potter Wizards Unite. After that, you’ll need to learn how to fight so you can compete in magical challenges in fortresses or how to use greenhouses so you can perform potion master notes. You can also unlock Portmanteaus Portkeys and choose a profession between Auror, Magizoologist or Professor. Don’t forget to participate in the monthly Community Day event either!
Another thing you should know about Brilliant Event: Return to Hogwarts
- Speed and accuracy are crucial to great spellcasting, so try to find a Foundable whose spell you’re familiar with.
- Drinking stim potions will also help you perform great spellcasting by temporarily improving the rating of your casts.
- Read carefully what each strategic spell does before spending your restricted section books, because these precious tomes can only be used once.
- If you have any silver keys left, this shiny event is the perfect time to use them on the special portkeys you’ll find.
