Best Temple Order: All temples for the Regional Phenomena quest in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom listed

While Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gives you the freedom to tackle the temples in any order you wish, there is a preferred path to follow in the Regional Phenomena quest.

This is the path we recommend taking through the history of regional phenomena, along with the individual quests you need to start reaching the temple:

  • Temple of the Wind: Start ‘Tulin of Rito Village’ in Rito Village
  • Water Temple: ‘Sidon of the Zora’ begins in Zora’s Domain
  • Fire Temple: Start ‘Yunobo of Goron City’ in Goron City
  • Temple of Lightning: Start ‘Riju of Gerudo Town’ in Gerudo Town

Remember: this is our recommended order, if you prefer to visit the Gerudo first, please do so! However, no matter which route you take, you must always start the quest first, like Riju from Gerudo Town, before you can enter the temple.

Although you can also ignore these missions and head to the final fight…

You should also continue to complete Shrines as you complete the Regional Freaks quest, so you can increase Link’s Heart and Stamina. Both are vital to your survival in Hyrule and if a temple is too difficult for you, take the time to complete a couple of shrines.

Temple locations in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

There are four temples you must complete in Zelda: Tears of the Realm: the Wind Temple, the Water Temple, the Fire Temple, and the Lightning Temple.

Wind Temple Location

The Temple of Wind is located within the West Hebra Celestial Archipelago, the celestial islands that float above the Rospro Pass region of Hyrule. To access this temple you must start and follow the mission Tulin del Rito.

Location of the Water Temple

The Water Temple can be found in the Lanayru Celestial Archipelago, which are the celestial islands that float above Upland Zorana. However, you cannot access this temple right away, as you must first start the Sidon of the Zora quest.

Location of the Fire Temple

The Fire Temple can be found in the Depths beneath Death Mountain in the Eldin Canyon region. To access this temple, you must start the Yunobo quest from Goron City.

Location of the Temple of Lightning

The Lightning Temple is located in the Gerudo Desert, approximately southwest of Gerudo City. If you want to complete this temple, you must first start the Riju quest from Gerudo Town.

How to start the regional phenomena quest in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

If you’re following the main Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom questline, you’ll begin the Regional Phenomena quest shortly after you arrive in Hyrule.

After completing your adventure on Great Sky Island, you must head to Lookout Landing, where Purah will task you with finding Captain Sickle, and when you return from here, she will give you the paraglider.

It is at this point, Purah will fill you in on what has been happening in Hyrule since Link went missing, and by doing so, the regional phenomena quest will begin. She will then mark the four locations where you can start the individual quests related to regional phenomena, such as Sidon of the Zora.

Now you can travel across Hyrule and save the day for the different races that inhabit it! Unless you want to fight the final boss right away, of course…

How to complete the regional phenomenon quest in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

In order to complete the Regional Phenomenon quest, you need to complete all four temples mentioned above (the Temple of Wind, the Temple of Water, the Temple of Fire, and the Temple of Lightning) in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. While you can follow the order of the temples described above, remember that you can tackle the temples in any order you like, so if you get stuck in one, you can always visit another.

After finishing all four temples, return to Lookout Landing and talk to Purah. You will find her standing next to the telescope at the top of her lab, which can be reached by going up the stairs attached to said lab. This will lead to a cutscene and once finished, you will have completed the Regional Phenomenon quest!

Once the regional phenomenon is up and dusted off, you can now complete the Crisis at Hyrule Castle quest. This will set you on your way to visit the fifth temple, the Temple of the Spirit, through the quests Find the Fifth Sage and The Secret of the Ring Ruins.

Good luck completing the Regional Phenomena quest, and if you want to learn more about Link’s adventure, visit our Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom walkthrough.
