Halo Infinite flight times schedule, ‘beta’ access on Xbox and PC explained

The Halo Infinite multiplayer technical preview, essentially a beta version of Halo Infinite, continues through October.

After two successful tests earlier in the year, the October preview is moving from invitation-only to allowing as many players as are interested in Xbox. PC players can still get in on the action, although accessing the beta isn’t as easy.

Ultimately, if you’re interested in playing Halo Infinite multiplayer from the start, there are a few ways to do it, as long as you follow the Halo Infinite flight schedule calendar, of course.

Halo Infinite Flight Access Xbox Insider: How to Get the Halo Infinite ‘Beta’ on Xbox

During the weekend of October 1-4, Halo Infinite Flight is open to all players on Xbox platforms, meaning there is no need to pre-register on the Halo Waypoint website.

Access to the Halo Infinite flight requires you to download the Xbox Insider Hub app on Xbox consoles, which is Microsoft’s way of allowing users to download pre-release software.

To download the Xbox Insider app on Xbox platforms, follow these steps:

1. Scroll down the dashboard home screen and open the store.

2. Search for “Insider” (it also appeared automatically in the ‘trending’ bar for us, which will be faster).

3. Download the Xbox Insider Hub app.

4. Once downloaded, navigate to the Previews section and download the Halo Infinite – Insider client.

From there, the Halo Infinite flight will begin downloading.

Top tip for future flying weekends: Because (in our experience) Xbox downloads tend to be a bit hit and miss, it’s worth opening the client a day or so in advance to force any potential updates you may need .

This means you’re not waiting for a surprise download when you should be playing when flight time arrives.

Halo Infinite Flight Access for PC: How to Play Halo Infinite ‘beta’ on PC

While the flight is open to all Xbox players, access on PC remains a little more restricted during the weekend of October 1-4.

This is partly because the process of allowing players to access the Xbox Insider hub on consoles is easier than through Steam, but that doesn’t mean more players can’t participate over the weekend.

If you were part of previous flights on PC, you should have automatic access. As well as this, it’s worth checking your email – you should have received a friend invite code, which will allow another player of your choice to gain access.

It’s not a perfect solution, but it means more players will have access than previous flights!

The Halo Infinite Winter Update is here, announcing the Halo Infinite co-op release date. Starting the story? If you’re looking to rise to the challenge, then Halo Infinite’s ranking system is waiting for you.

What modes and maps will be featured in the Halo Infinite multiplayer flight this weekend?

In addition to a training mode and weapon drills in the Academy menu, as well as the opportunity to try out elements of Halo Infinite’s battle pass and progression system, the following modes and maps will be available during matchmaking periods:

Modes:

  • Killer
  • Capture the Flag
  • Strongholds (Arena only)
  • Full control (large team battles only)

Maps:

  • Live fire
  • Bazaar
  • Recharge
  • giant
  • Fragmentation (Big Team Battle only)

Big Team Battle Map, Fragmentation.

Ultimately, if you can’t make the Halo Infinite flight this weekend, more will likely be available in the weeks and months leading up to Halo Infinite’s release in December.
