Midgard Nornir Chest Locations

1. Midgard – Wild Forests (Reward: Idunn Apple)

This Nornir chest is found very early in the game, while hunting deer with Atreus. You will reach a temple and in front of the chest there is a barricade. Go through the barricade and ring the 3 bells in the room to recover the chest.

2. Midgard – The River Pass (Reward: Idunn Apple)

After killing a revenant for the first time, you will be presented with another Nornir chest after finding a forking path. All you need to do is go behind the chest to locate the first rune and then locate two more runes just after the bridge.

One is to the left of the bridge entrance and the next one goes through a door a little further from the bridge, but you should be able to hit it with the Leviathan Axe.

3. Midgard – The River Pass (Reward: Horn of Blood Mead)

As if the spike chamber wasn’t stressful enough, there’s also a Nornir chest in there. Before you leave after going through most of the puzzle, turn around to find a ledge where you can jump down and find this Nornir chest.

The first rune is found by lifting the platform while you are on it, the next is on the roof of the arena and the last is through a cave attached to the roof, but don’t get pricked by any of the spikes and Horn of Blood Mead will be yours.

4. Midgard – The River Pass (Reward: Idunn Apple)

After defeating the Troll Brenna Dauoi in The River Pass, you can find another Nornir Chest in the arena where you fought him. All three runes are in the area, and you’ll find two of the bells to the left and right of the chest, and the last one closer to the main arena where you fought. Just call all of these in the time limit and you’ll be great! Simple!

5. Midgard – Witch’s House (Reward: Horn of Blood Mead)

After re-accessing the Witch’s House and obtaining Atreus’s new shock bow, you will be able to obtain another Nornir Chest. On your way back during the journey objective under the Witch’s house, simply shoot Atreus’s Light Arrow to create 3 bridges, then swing around the side of the cave to access it.

The first rune can be accessed by moving past two light bridges away from the Nornir Chest, and then the second can be found to the left of the elevator, slightly above the shaft. For the third, go back to the chest, look back to get a bomb, throw it on the platform opposite the chest and go inside to see the last one in view.

6. Midgard – Watchtower (Reward: Idunn Apple)

This Nornir chest can be found by simply following a ship docking marker on the map near Lookout Tower. You will see 3 bells surrounded by spikes. To lower the spikes, you will have to throw the Leviathan Ax at a pole, which lowers the spikes for a short period of time. Facing the chest, you’ll want to retrieve the ax as soon as possible and then throw it at the leftmost bell.

After this, throw the ax again at the pole with the gears and then quickly throw it at the other two bells. It’s possible to do all of this in one go, but lowering the tines a second time gives you a little more wiggle room.

7. Midgard – Foothills (Reward: Blood Mead Horn)

Located near Sindri in the foothills before the mountain, you will be able to find this Nornir chest by simply going southwest and following a patch to find another Nornir chest.

This is a little different, as you will need to match 3 spinning poles to the markers on the chest. You can find one right behind the chest, another by simply going to the bottom of the small slope to reach the chest, and another by simply going forward and to the left. However, this one is covered in gas, which you can freeze to reveal the rune on the post.

8. Midgard – Temple of Tyr (Reward: Idunn Apple)

Once you reach a room containing the second post with the Winds of Hel, you will find a large pointed hallway, with a Nornir Chest at the end. Look directly behind you to find the first rune.

Go back and hug the left of the saw blades to find the second rune. The final rune is in front of the wheel mechanism where the trap falls from. On the right side of the block you can find the final rune and get an Idunn apple.

9. Midgard – Fafnir’s Warehouse (Reward: Horn of Blood Mead)

Fafnir’s Storehouse is relatively easy to reach and can be done while completing the Fafnir’s Treasure side quest. Head northwest while in the Lake of Nine and you should be able to find the Nornir Chest after encountering Sindri, head into the forest area and hug the right side of the map, after you’ve taken out the enemies, just

10. Midgard – The Mountain (Reward: Horn of Blood Mead)

Inside the Mountain, you will begin to see runes appear in a room, as well as a Light Crystal behind some wood. Throw the Leviathan Ax to access the light crystal and activate the bridge to the chest.

Next, you will find the runes (B, N, R) painted on the walls. You don’t need to time this one, but rather align the posts with the symbols. You can find one at the entrance to the cavern before the ledge, another next to the light bridge, and another high up to the right of the cavern near the entrance.

11. Midgard – The Mountain (Reward: Idunn Apple)

On your hike up the mountain after meeting Sindri and helping him with a pretty big situation, you will find your way up the mountain again. You can’t miss this chest: two of the runes are in the same room as the Jotnar. Shrine just before you reach the chest: use your fancy new electric arrows and break the bomb to access it.

You will find other Runes here, the second on the upper level of the bridge; just lift it up and it will be on the right when you go down. The last one is a little harder to find. Go down the bridge again and you’ll find it in the rubble near the end of the bridge on the right once again.

12. Midgard – Light Elf Outpost (reward: Idunn Apple)

Once there, you’ll need to break the rune right after the chest and go ahead and solve the simple Bridge of Light puzzle around the perimeter of the island. One of the runes is on the edge of a door and another is embedded in it. . Getting to this chest is the hard part, but solving it is easy.

13. Midgard – The Witch’s House (Reward: Idunn Apple)

This Nornir chest is very complicated, to put it lightly. First, make sure you have the Winds of Hel, then exit the Witch’s House and turn left until you find a pile of rubble. Go behind the rubble and grab the Winds of Hel, then you’ll want to transfer them back to the front. Follow the prompts and rebuild the structure.

Take the legendary chest, if you want. You will then want to backtrack and climb the chain leading to another small hill. Go to the top of this, look at the newly rebuilt structure and extract the winds once more, turn around and go back and insert it into the pole halfway. You will now see a post with 2 Runes and another one that scrolls along the side where you inserted the Winds.

The top runes have to be “B” pointing to the right and “B” pointing up. The rune on the Winds side should be timed as “B” pointing up. Then, extract the Winds, go to the bottom where the chest is, insert the Winds and the reward will be yours.

14. Midgard- Veithurgard (Reward: Horn of Blood Mead)

This chest is easy to spot and remains from the huge Dragon. However, seals are a little harder to find. One is near the large ruins, the next is next to the ledges near the water, and the last one is to the right of the chest. This one is super simple, so don’t miss it!

15. Midgard – Konunsgard (Reward: Token of Generosity)

Konunsgard is required to complete all of Brok and Sindri’s quests, so the first thing you’ll have to do is complete all of that! Once unlocked, collect the 3 mythical items they ask for, head towards the two dwarves and you will find a door that leads to a balcony containing this Nornir chest.

For runes, activate the winds of Hel on the blank rune to take it out before the rune appears. Then, insert the hel winds into the other bell to make it spin. Then, use the ax to ring the remaining bells. Voila! Time is tight, so make sure you practice it!

16. Midgard – Raven Cliffs (Reward: Symbol of Fervor)

This one requires the Winds of Hel, so make sure you have them before heading towards Raven Cliffs. The Chest is located fairly centrally in the area, so grab the winds near the docks and transfer them to the big door. Next, take the winds to the rune posts and match the signs to the chest and then you’ll be able to unlock it in no time, it just requires knowing where to place the Wind of Hel and combining the Runes!

1. Alfheim – Shrine of the Light Elves (Reward: Idunn Apple)

This can be a little tricky to find. Once you reach the main body of water in Alfheim, you will want to continue to the right until you turn around and reach the Light Elf Shrine. After this, you will be bombarded by enemies. Take them out and head through the door to reach a door, where you’ll have to time a jump to cross the bridge before encountering more enemies. Head to the right and you will find the Nornir Chest.
