Fortnite Minions are one of the many new additions to the new Fortnite map for Season 2.
Like the Cube Monsters or Stormtroopers from previous seasons, these are non-player adversaries that you must fight, and since they are equipped with weaponry, they will defend you.
However, thanks to the phone booth disguises, you can sneak past them and use ID scanners to access new areas while using them.

Fortnite Henchmen Explained: From Henchman Locations to Stealth and Extortions
The minions are found within the five Season 2 ‘spy’ themed locations found on the Fortnite map:

All of them are populated by minions of one of two factions: Ghost or Shadow.
The henchmen will attack you on sight, so be sure to grab a weapon quickly so you can defend yourself.
Ideally, you would want to land somewhere quiet and sneak away to avoid detection by minions. Like any stealth game, the standard rules apply: don’t run, stay crouched, and stay out of their line of sight.
Also like a stealth game, indicators will appear above their heads when they have detected something suspicious or seen its location.
If you fight one, it will not die immediately, but will instead enter a despondent state. From here, you can approach them and press a shakedown message.
This will give you the location of nearby chests and other items you can use.
Use this to help you explore the area more easily. Of course, other henchmen can still detect you, so a disguise is useful…
Fortnite Phone Booth Costumes Explained: How to Dress Up as Henchmen in Fortnite
If you want to explore the place without obstacles, so that the henchmen and security drones do not attack you, then you need a henchman costume.
Henchmen costumes are collected from telephone booths. These are scattered around the locations where the henchmen are located and look like a typical red British phone booth.
They’re everywhere, but if you want to try this, we found one on the bottom floor of the southwest corner of The Rig, and above ground and outside near the center of The Agency.
Once you have the disguise, other minions (of that same faction) and security systems will not bother you.
An important note with costumes: if you sustain any damage, whether from a fall, a storm, or a shooting, the costume is lost. To get it back, simply visit a phone booth again.

Fortnite ID Scanners on Doors and Chests Explained
At each of these locations, you will find ID scanners. These protect access to certain doors and chests in each complex and will open if you have the correct identification.
With your average appearance, this will result in you being excluded. Instead, you need to find a disguise, which you can find in a aforementioned phone booth.
Once you have one, go back to the ID scanner and scan it yourself. If they are successful, they will open.
Remember, if you were damaged before the costume was scanned, the costume will disappear and not work, so you will have to collect one again.
It’s also worth noting that some doors with ID scanners can be avoided by taking an alternate route, if you’re having difficulty finding a disguise.
However, you should have one for the ID Scanner chests, which are worth opening for the upgraded loot they provide.
