The quest Staking Your Territory in Disney Dreamlight Valley is the first quest you receive from Nala after she agrees to come live in the Valley with you. Nala feels that the Valley is not yet suitable for the Lions, but she knows that you are the one she must help!
As with many quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley, there are quite a few steps to completing this one. From using whiskers for an important lesson about the Lion to teaching Nala about the food you can offer her, there’s a lot you can do.

How to Start the Stake Out Your Territory Mission in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To begin the quest Staking Your Territory in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you must have unlocked the Kingdom of the Lion King and completed the quest Eyes in the Dark to bring Nala to your valley. You must also have progressed your friendship with Scrooge McDuck (we are at level four and it allows us to do this), and you must have the Dazzle Beach Biome.
You can do this quest without completing the Stars to Guide Us quest to unlock Simba, so you don’t have to worry about that if you don’t want to.
You can start the Staking Your Territory quest once you reach friendship level two with Nala. You can do this quickly by chatting with her daily and bringing her a gift from her. Once you get here, you can talk to her to start the mission.
There are quite a few steps to this mission and we recommend having at least 5000 coins before starting as you will need them later.

How to Make Dazzle Beach Lion Friendly for the Disney Dreamlight Valley Sumbling Your Territory Mission
After talking to Nala to start the quest, you’ll learn that she wants you to make some changes to Dazzle Beach to make it more Lion-friendly. You need to decorate the beach to create an area that can be used for hunting.
The first thing you should do is go to Scrooge McDuck’s store. When you’re here, talk to Scrooge and tell him you want to “Order Some Items.” Then select the ‘Furniture’ option and you should instantly see a request from Nala in the ‘Requests’ section.
Order Scar’s Resting Rock for 4,600 coins, but if you already have the rock somewhere else in the valley, feel free to use it. If you order it, it will appear in your furniture inventory after you have paid for it.
Once you’ve done that, it’s time to head to Dazzle Beach. To complete this part of the mission, you will need to place:
- Scar Resting Rock
- Seven landscaping articles
Due to the number of items Nala wants you to drop off, we found it easier to decorate the area near the cave that has Ursula near the Forest of Valor.
Once you’ve found an area you want to decorate, go into the ‘Furniture’ menu and you should see two requests from Nala. One of them is Scar’s Lounging Rock, which you can place wherever you want.
The second request will be some landscaping items that Nala likes. We recommend sticking to this selection of items if you can, as it makes decorating with a theme much easier.
Now, all you have to do is place seven items from this section to complete the quest. We spent a little more time here and placed a few more items than necessary, but we think it turned out pretty well.
Once you’ve met the requirements, go back and talk to Nala again.
How to Find Rustic Clothes and Mustaches for the Disney Dreamlight Valley Sizing Your Territory Mission
Then, Nala will tell you that you need to wear rustic clothes to protect yourself from the sun and some mustaches for a very important lesson. Don’t worry, finding Rustic clothing is easier than you think.
Go to the ‘Wardrobe’ option from your side menu and, if you have rustic clothing, you should instantly see a ‘Request’ from Nala. Here you will see all the clothes you have that meet the requirements. You only need to use two rustic clothes to clean this part.
If you don’t have rustic clothing, visit Mr. McDuck’s store again. This time, she talks to him about ordering items, but he chooses the “Clothes” option. Then she selects what item of clothing you want (a shirt, a coat, whatever you want).
When you have selected the type of item you want, look at the top of the screen. You should see a control command to use a ‘Filter’ on clothing. Use this command and then scroll down through all the options until you get to “Rustic.” Select this and then return to the garments. The only thing that will be displayed in that section now will be rustic items.
So, it’s time to get some mustaches. Only this time, they’re not actually mustaches: you need a mustache! To get one, open your ‘Wardrobe’ again from the side menu and you should receive a second request from Nala. Select this and choose one of the mustaches here if you don’t already have one.
When you’re ready, go find Nala again.
How to find fish for the Disney Dreamlight Valley quest Staking out your territory
After talking to Nala again, it’s time to go fishing. Fortunately, everything you need can be caught in the waters of Dazzle Beach.
You need to catch:
- Three common or uncommon fish
- Three rare and unique fish
To complete this mission, we caught three herring and three shrimp. There are plenty of bubbles off the coast of Dazzle Beach, so it shouldn’t take you long to capture what you need.
When you have everything you need, go find Nala once again.
How to Make a Fish Dish for the Disney Dreamlight Valley Sizing Your Territory Mission
After bringing the fish to Nala, he comes up with the brilliant idea of turning it into a complete meal for her. Follow the conversation and choose the option you want; this will have no impact on what she needs to do.
