The best weapons in Black Ops 4 Blackout will always be a contentious topic, especially since there are no concrete data-mined statistics in Blackout mode yet, which means that so far it is good personal experience and taste that decides that list.
That being said, we do have some community stats for weapons in multiplayer, so we’re listing those complete Black Ops 4 weapon damage stats for multiplayer below.
Meanwhile, for Blackout, we spent some time on both the beta and full release of Black Ops 4’s Battle Royale mode, and also sought out the community’s input on their personal favorites. Below you’ll find our picks for the best weapons and guns in Blackout so far, and why.
Black Ops 4 Multiplayer Weapon Damage Stats
As we mentioned above, there are no concrete stats for Blackout mode yet, but we do have these stats below for regular multiplayer, thanks to the hard work of community members like Kitsunekinder on the Black Ops 4 reddit, for example, who was one of our sources for the information below.

Black Ops 4 Blackout best weapons and weapons
While Black Ops 4’s weapons may seem fairly similar at first, at least compared to most other Battle Royales, there are, of course, many things that make one weapon stand out from another.
Below we’ve selected a selection of weapons that we think are generally the best to build when gearing up in Battle Royale. That means they’re not exclusive to crates or zombies: they’re all available to be picked up in the standard way, albeit at different rarity levels, and using them won’t leave you too biased towards a specialty like long range or close range damage.
SDM Category: DMR Rarity: Rare Firing Mode: Single (Semi-Automatic)
Like DMR, the SDM cannot be used as a fully automatic weapon, but that does not mean it is not useful in medium-range encounters. In fact, it’s fantastic, with higher damage than the already satisfying Auger and a solid rate of fire if you quickly tap the fire button.
It’s particularly effective at medium and long range, where you’d be trying to single-touch with your assault rifles anyway, and with solid attachments it’s a fantastic, flexible alternative to a sniper rifle.
Spitfire Category: SMG Rarity: Uncommon Firing Mode: Full Automatic
Ideal for pairing with a DMR or assault rifle, the Spitfire is our Blackout SMG pick. It has the highest rate of fire of all, but still deals a good amount of damage per bullet. There is some knockback, but in close-quarters games at the beginning or end of a game that’s less of a problem than at longer ranges; Additionally, Call of Duty’s recoil is considerably less than other Battle Royales in general.
However, it’s not that good at anything except close range, so only use it in firefights within 80 meters of range.
Vapr-XKG Category: Assault Rifle Rarity: Uncommon Firing Mode: Full Automatic
It is arguably the best assault rifle, and since assault rifles are the most versatile weapons, that also makes it one of the best all-round weapons. It looks like it’s had a damage nerf from the beta, but it still packs a solid punch and handles very well. Our selection of various AR games.
KN-57 Category: Assault Rifle Rarity: Uncommon Firing Mode: Full Automatic
An alternative assault rifle, the KN-57 is the Call of Duty version of an AK-47. If you’re used to PUBG’s AKM, you’ll know what that means: a slower fire rate than most ARs, but higher damage per hit. It is noticeably higher in the case of the KN-57, so if you prefer a more powerful but slower firing rifle, this is the one for you and a very solid option in all aspects.
Paladin Category: Sniper Rifle Rarity: Rare Firing Mode: Bolt Action
Sniper rifles rely heavily on your own skill, but if you’re good, they’re the best you can get. The Paladin is the community’s choice for the best of the bunch, and ours too, with its slow bolt action more than made up for by massive damage and a minimal drop in range. The bullet speed also seems to be extremely fast – we don’t have official numbers, but the amount you need to “lead” your ranged shots doesn’t seem to be as high as Sniping in other Battle Royales, which again makes your life easier.
It’s rare though and you’ll need to pair it with something more flexible like an assault rifle, but it’s worth it if you can make your shots count.
