Battlefield 1 Medic Class loadouts and strategies - Rifles, Syringes, Grenade Launchers and more

Battlefield 1’s Medic class, once part of a combined class in previous Battlefield games, is now a specialist in supporting your squad through healing.

Previously combined with the Assault class, the Medic now gains exclusive access to the rifle weapon class, arguably the most powerful in our first experience of Battlefield 1, and is both an offensive threat and provides support to your team. It’s probably the most popular class in the game and certainly one of the most important when it comes to sustaining both defenses and target efforts, so here’s our complete guide to the Medic class.

Unique medical class items

The Medic’s gadgets allow you to significantly adjust your play style, depending on whether you are interested in offensive or supportive action. The syringe acts as a WWI defibrillator, reviving fallen teammates, while the med box is your standard heal-over-time health pack and the bandage bag acts as a more immediate heal, but it’s Single use and must be directed to another teammate to use.

The rifle grenades, meanwhile, provide the option to build your Medic around mid-range damage, with the high-explosive grenade aimed more at vehicles than personnel.

  • medical box
  • Rifle grenade: high explosive
  • Rifle grenade – Smoke
  • Rifle Grenade – Frag

Medical Class Strategies

The most important thing you can do to get the most out of the Medic class is to specialize. Knowing, as you build your loadout, if you’re going to be playing as a real field medic, running around the battlefield healing your allies, means you can prepare for that in advance by combining the three healing options in your kit.

Rifle grenades, on the other hand, allow you to play as a more combative member of the squad, dealing significant area-of-effect damage by holding choke points. It’s also a playstyle that makes the most of the excellent and very versatile rifles that the Medic class has access to.

It’s also worth noting that the traditional Battlefield combo of the Scout/Support-Medic dream team is still very much alive. We had great success, for example, holding the Windmill point in a game of Rush at St Quentin’s Scar by setting up camp on the ground floor next to a squad member who was lucky enough to get the Flamethrower bonus.

The continuous cycle of heals and covering fire from the versatile Medic rifle meant we could hold that final choke point against very strong opposition until the counter ran out. The same will also work for Friendly Scouts and Supports.
