Apex Legends Ash skill list and cooldowns at a glance

No character’s abilities are the same and Ash’s are no exception to the rule.

Below you’ll find an overview of all of Ash’s abilities and cooldowns at a glance:

  • Passive: Marked for death
  • Tactical: bow trap
  • Definitive: Failure to comply with phase

For more details on what each of these abilities entails, as well as tips for making the most of them or avoiding them if you’re on the opposing team, check out our following sections.

Marked for Death passive ability explained

Let’s start with Ash’s passive ability. Marked for Death allows Ash’s map to pinpoint the location of recent kill boxes. This is already useful, but in addition, you can ping a kill box to mark surviving attackers (only once per kill box).

In practice, you will see new icons on your map while using Ash. As soon as an enemy dies, a skull icon will appear marking the location of the death box.

You can then use H if you’re on a PC with a mouse and keyboard, or the button designated for the Character Utility Action on your controller. This will mark the surviving attackers.

Lastly, the dots on the map also indicate how much time has passed since the player died, as well as any other nearby death boxes, which is useful to know before launching an attack.

Tactical Bow Trap Skill Explained

About Ash’s tactical ability. Arc Snare involves Ash’s slashing trap, which deals damage and also binds the first enemy that gets too close to it.

In simpler words? It is a throwing weapon that is also electrified. It’s pretty quick to use and, as the description says, you don’t need to hit a target to deal damage.

Its most impressive feature by far is its reach. It can travel far and wide without falling, making it perfect for targeting an escaping enemy or a group of enemy players who are attacking your teammates before you can get close.

It may not be a disruptive ability by any means, but it can serve as a way to break up an opposing team’s formation. Plus, an extra attack is always welcome.

Non-compliance with the final phase

Ash’s ultimate ability, Phase Breach, joins characters like Wraith and Revenant with a unique twist.

Phase Breach allows the legend to open a one-way portal to a specific location. The description is important: you will not be able to go back to it or use it a second time. But the fact that it can be used in a specific location can create a huge advantage and, of course, a variety of new options for strategizing.

It’s worth mentioning that in practice, it’s more like Wraith’s ultimate ability. Which means your teammates won’t be able to join you. Instead, the animation sees Ash using her sword to literally open a gap in front of her and warp to a marked location.

The ability has decent range, making strategies like moving towards an enemy team for a surprise attack very tempting.

At the same time, it can serve as a good way to escape the heat of battle. Of course, this is an ultimate ability, which means the cooldown is considerable; Using it wisely is key to getting the most out of it.
