The EX Ancient Horse Rumors quest is one of many new quests added as part of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s second DLC pack.
Playing it will lead you to Ancient Saddle and Ancient Bridle, two upgrades for your horse.

Search for antique saddle
This part of the EX Ancient Horse Rumors quest is not too far from where you found the journal at the beginning of this quest. You should have unlocked the Ka’o Makagh Shrine while visiting Highland Stable; otherwise you’ll find it on a hill overlooking the stables. If you’ve already unlocked it, fast travel and head southeast.
Use the mountain behind the shrine to cross to the Lake of the Horse God and land on the bridge that crosses it. Follow the path leading into the mountains and you will find a giant plant pod. Behind him, you’ll see a chest half buried in the mud. If you can’t do this, turn on Magnesis and it should glow pink. Free the chest and open it to add the antique chair to your inventory.
To use both items, you will need to have reached a maximum bond with any normal horse in Hyrule. Then go to a groom in one of the stables and you can exchange the bridle and saddle for these special new ones. They are particularly useful as they add two new spurs and allow you to teleport your horse towards you, no matter how far away you are.

Antique flange search
Unlike the Antique Saddle, the Antique Bridle requires a little more travel. The item is located high in the Satori Mountains, which can be found just south of Hyrule Bridge (located in the Ridgeland region of Hyrule).
If you’re still struggling to find it, don’t worry: there is actually a shrine located at the foot of the Satori Mountains known as the Mogg Latan Shrine.
All you need to do is warp up here, climb to the top, and look for a small lake with a large tree overlooking it (you should encounter a unicorn while you’re here). The chest is buried in the ground at the foot of this tree. Use Magnesis to take it out and the Ancient Bridle will be yours.
