You must find a Stormtrooper checkpoint in Fortnite to complete various May 4th challenges and earn XP in Fortnite.
To complete these challenges, you must land at a Stormtrooper checkpoint, then place in the top 25, then complete a Stromtrooper bounty, and also drive a vehicle to a Stormtrooper checkpoint.
Completing each of these three Star Wars Day celebration challenges will reward 30k Fortnite XP, which will help you unlock new Battle Pass skins. Completing five of the six available challenges will also unlock the Empire Banner.

Where to land at a Stormtrooper checkpoint in Fortnite
There are three Stormtrooper checkpoints in Fortnite:
- Between changing axes and sleepy sounds
- Between Camp Cuddle and Greasy Grove
- Southeast Jones
You can see checkpoints marked on the map before entering a match, but the pins disappear once the match starts. Placing your own custom pin before starting a match can help you easily locate a Stormtrooper checkpoint. Or you can use our map above to mark locations as you play.
Stormtrooper checkpoints in Fortnite aren’t very big, so keep an eye out for small gray obstacles and white speech bubbles above a Stormtrooper’s head as it lands to help you find a checkpoint.
Make sure you land at a Stormtrooper checkpoint at the start of a match so your top 25 finish counts toward completing the May 4th challenge.

How to complete a Stormtrooper bounty
To complete a Stormtrooper bounty in Fortnite, you must find a Stormtrooper on the map to talk to and collect a reward. Accepting one from a reward board will not count towards completing this Star Wars challenge.
A reward must be completed in the same match in which you accepted it. A yellow circle will appear on the map and minimap to help you locate the player you need to eliminate.
When you find your reward, you may want to try taking them out with an E-11 blaster rifle. Getting 1,000 damage with an E-11 blaster rifle is another May 4 challenge that rewards 30,000 XP upon completion.
You can find an E-11 blaster rifle in chests, floor loot, and by purchasing it for 100 gold from a Stormtrooper at a Stormtrooper Checkpoint.
However, you don’t need to clear a bounty yourself, as the challenge will be cleared even if a player poachs your target before you get there.
How to Drive a Vehicle from Chonker’s Speedway or Logjam Lumberyard to a Stormtrooper Checkpoint
The easiest way to beat this challenge is to land at Chonker’s Speedway or Logjam Lumberyard first, to try to avoid getting caught by the incoming storm circle.
If you land at Logjam Lumberyard, the closest Stormtrooper checkpoint to drive to is the one between Shifty Shafts and Sleepy Sound. There will always be some trucks inside Logjam Lumberyard, so hop on one and start driving to the checkpoint.
Landing at Chonker’s Speedway means that the closest Stormtrooper checkpoint is the one southeast of The Joneses. There are always plenty of fast cars in the middle of the dirt track at Chonker’s Speedway to choose from. Follow the path east of The Joneses landmark to find the small Stormtrooper checkpoint.
